I've been looking into getting a slip for our boat somewhere on Lake Travis, but security matters to us. A while back, we had a bad experience where some gear went missing overnight while docked at an open-access marina. Since then, my wife has insisted we only consider places in gated communities or have on-site security. Is there any marina on Lake Travis that's part of a private residential area and actually has real security?

I totally get where you're coming from. After we had our first kid, I also started paying more attention to things like safety and access control. One of the marinas lake travis austin tx, that stood out to me for exactly that reason is Northshore Marina Hollows. It's actually inside a gated lakeside community, which adds a nice extra layer of privacy and peace of mind. Plus, it's not just secure — it's clean and well-managed too. Worth checking out if that's a priority for you.

Just happened to be browsing and saw this thread pop up. It's interesting how many people factor in things like security when choosing a marina. I usually just look for space and convenience, but this got me thinking. Good to see people sharing real-world experiences — super useful even if you're not actively looking right now.
