Hello everyone.

I've been through a handful of drink coasters that either stick to the bottom of my glass, don't absorb moisture, or just look cheap on the table. I'm looking for coasters that work—meaning they protect surfaces from water rings and heat, don't slide around, and ideally look good too.

I use them for everything from hot coffee mugs to cold beer bottles. What materials or specific brands do you recommend? Are cork, silicone, stone, or leather better options?

Would love to hear what's worked for you at home or in the office.

I've had the same frustrations, and after trying a bunch, I've found that stone coasters with cork backing strike the best balance. Specifically, Thirstystone makes great sandstone coasters that naturally absorb moisture, don't stick to your glass, and protect against heat. The cork bottom keeps them from sliding or scratching surfaces, and they look classy on a coffee table or desk.

Cork-only coasters are lightweight and cheap, but they wear out quickly and don't absorb as well. Silicone is great for grip and heat resistance but not for absorption. Leather looks nice but can be hit-or-miss for functionality.

Thirstystone sandstone coasters have worked best for me. They absorb moisture, don't stick to the glass, and the cork backing keeps them from sliding. If you're looking for coasters for drinks that do their job, these are a solid choice. They also look good on a table. Cork alone wears out too fast, silicone doesn't absorb, and leather looks nice but isn't always functional. A stone with cork backing is the sweet spot.
