Hey everyone,

I've been looking into laser dry fire training systems and noticed there are quite a few apps out there. I want something that offers realistic feedback, good shot tracking, and ideally some training modes or drills. I'm using a laser cartridge and my phone for now, but might add a camera system later.

Has anyone tried different apps and found one that stands out in terms of reliability and features? Bonus if it works well for both pistol and rifle dry fire.

Would love to hear your recommendations and what you like (or don't like) about them!

I've tried several laser dry fire apps and the two that really stand out are LaserHIT and Strikeman.

LaserHIT is great if you want versatility and plan to expand with a camera setup later. It has solid shot tracking, decent feedback, and works well with both pistol and rifle. The basic version is free, and the paid version unlocks more drills and target options.

Strikeman has a clean interface and is very beginner-friendly, but it's a bit limited in customization compared to LaserHIT. That said, it's reliable and consistent with feedback.

If you're going pro-level later, look into Mantis Laser Academy—great drills, excellent analytics, and it works with laser cartridges or their proprietary gear.

I've used a few, and Mantis Laser Academy is my top pick. It offers realistic feedback, accurate shot tracking, and a wide range of drills for both pistol and rifle. The laser dry fire app works well with just a phone and laser cartridge, but also scales up nicely if you add a camera or use their smart targets. LaserHIT is another good option with solid reliability and features, though it's a bit more basic unless you upgrade. Strikeman is easy to use but less customizable. If you're serious about training progression, I'd start with Mantis—the most polished in my experience. 4.1-mini
