The dryers in our laundry room have started to work poorly - they take longer than usual to dry, some items remain damp. Has anyone encountered something similar? What can be checked first before calling the technicians?

There may be several reasons, from overloading the machines to ventilation problems. Sometimes it's just accumulated lint or dust. I think it's worth starting with a visual inspection and cleaning, and if that doesn't help, then call in the experts.

I had a similar problem in my laundry business. The dryers were taking too long, and some customers complained about clothes not drying fully. After an inspection, we found that lint buildup in the vents was the culprit. We hired a professional team specializing in commercial dryer vent cleaning services, and the difference was immediate. Not only did the machines work better, but we also reduced energy costs and improved safety. Regular cleaning every 6 to 12 months is now part of our maintenance routine. If you're in the GTA, these guys are efficient and thorough. Highly recommend it for any commercial laundry operation.
