For Sale / Re: 2016 21 BHS Last of the all aluminum versions
« on: August 16, 2019, 10:50:41 PM »
This one does not however there is more than enough room  for 1 person to sleep on it.

The couch is held to the slide floor with L brackets it is easy to remove if you wanted to switch it out.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: What we learned from Dealers!

LL shutdown because thor is run by a bunch of scumbags, they are the ones that destroyed these unique trailers and any knowledgeable buyer will know that.

The dealer is using a typical sales tactic and any reasonably smart person will see right through it. Personally I think these campers will hold their value because what is the alternative? a POS press board and stapled together junker? I"ll take my chances with my orphaned LL.

Make sure you an in depth reference check of any RV repair shop and especially camping world. The reviews of some of these places are terrifying.

Many of these mods can be done on your own. You'll have a better understanding of your camper, the work will be better quality even if you've never done it before, and it will cost much less than paying someone to do it.

When you operate the slide do you hold the button down for a few seconds after the slide is fully extended and retracted? this has to be done or the motors can get out of sync and possibly create the problem you have.

General Q & A / Re: Cracked Frame

Probably 1,000 pounds, you might want to stop using that hitch.

The Anderson hitch is more than enough for my 21BHS. It excels at controlling sway although doesn't transfer much weight it is more then enough for our trailers.

Does the 16BH even need a WD hitch? could probably get by with some anti-sway bars only. That is the wrong type of WD hitch to use with that camper even with 600 lb or lower bars.

After the fix is done I would get rid of that WD hitch and use the Anderson. As DavidM mentioned definitely add additional support to the frame and make sure the welder knows what he is doing.

Thor bought livinlite and their "new" ones are not built like the old ones that is for sure, for me they have strayed way too far from the "all aluminum" concept.

I am in MI also, just got back from Traverse City state park, was a great weekend!

fyi, If you don't have to have the aluminum cabinets you can look for a 2016 and later also, more specifically one made Dec 2015 or earlier.

Although aluminum cabinets were an option by that time so you might find one that has them and you'll want to verify it has the aluminum roof as a forum member also has a Dec 2015 build and his camper has the rubber roof.

My camper is a Dec of 2015 build (titled as a 2016) and it is all aluminum except for the cabinets fronts and some trim (which for me doesn't matter).

General Q & A / Re: Water heater switch?
« on: August 28, 2018, 08:40:20 PM »
That switch on my camper turns on the water heater with propane, there is also a switch on the heater itself to run on electric.

All of the diamond plate on my 2016 is metal, however it is very thin so when you tap on it in certain places it doesn't feel like metal.

disassemble the fridge, even if you remove the camper door frame I doubt there will be enough room.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: Considering CL21RBS w/Jeep TV
« on: August 27, 2018, 09:30:13 PM »
Length should be fine, payload will be the limiting factor. The Jeep has a short wheelbase but with a good hitch and watching your speed you should be fine.

I use the Anderson hitch and it makes a world of difference even with an F150. It is more for sway but does transfer a little weight. The hitch itself isn't heavy and that is good because an anti-sway hitch counts against payload.

My 21BHS is also a Dec 2015 build and has the aluminum roof and floor. It does have vinyl over the aluminum floor but it looks good and is smooth on the feet. Also have wood cabinet doors but that is it, everything else is the same as the earlier model years.

It was 2017 model year (2016 build dates) that they slowly started moving away from the all aluminum, pretty sure it started with the roof so some 2017's might still have the aluminum floor but I don't know for certain.
