CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: What we learned from Dealers!
« on: February 21, 2019, 03:16:35 PM »
I just talked to a an RV salesman in Atlanta, he told me that they just sold a used 2014 Camplite for $14k, as far as I remember the MSRP was $22k or so, and he doesn't think the re-sell price go any lower than that. He even recommended me to keep my Camplite because of the all aluminum built, he even said "yours is one of the good ones because its all aluminum". Very honest guy. So far, I haven't seen any other all-aluminum RV around, even Airstreams have wood floors and cabinetry.
One more thing, all parts in my Camplite are commercially available parts, no worries about finding a replacement.

General Q & A / Re: Exterior door
« on: January 22, 2019, 11:10:09 AM »
I found that the doors were made by a company called "Challenger Doors" in Indiana. I found the label on one side of the door. I found their website and we can order a door directly to them. But before I do that, i want to try to repair it myself -based on the previous advice. Please take a look at the pictures attached.

Ok, this is an update. there were lost of metal shavings in one of the domes, and it looks like a some drops of water leaked in (probably from the broken dome that I already replaced), I saw little rust marks left by the shavings. After cleaning it, I tried to check for voltage but I couldn't get any readings, the wiring is not a simple as I thought - please see the attached picture. now I don't know if the dome is bad or I just don't know how to check it. Any advice will be appreciated. One more thing, all fuses look fine and everything works but the 4 light domes.  ???

This is an update. Apparently there is short in one of the LED light domes, right under the antenna. I am also finding out that these light domes are not wired in parallel but in-line, therefore if one has a short, the whole line doesn't work, that's why everything else works but these lights. This Saturday morning I am going to remove the dome to see what's causing the short (I need sunlight), but my guess is that there is a leak from the antenna through the roof and caused the short, unless the whole LED went bad. I will keep you posted.

General Q & A / Re: Exterior door

I have a 2012 Camplite and the exterior door has the same problem, it is bubbling up like if the insulation chemically reacted with something (?). I am sure this is coming from inside the door (insulation). I wonder if I need a new door.
If anyone out there knows what to do or how to order a new door please let us know.

DavidM: Sorry, I forgot to mention that my Camplite is a 2012 model. The lights worked since new until last year, and this year while reviewing and cleaning and replacing the battery I found out that the lights don't work (?). The exterior, bathroom, and faucet, lights work fine. I will follow your advice and check one by one though. I will let you know what I find.

CampLite Travel Trailers / I need help (question about the lights)

I need help. Four (4) of the lights (light domes) inside my Camplite are not working  :(, everything else works (other lights, radio, fridge, pump, etc.), the fuses look visually fine, maybe I need to check them with a voltmeter, but they look to be fine. Anyone over there with the same problem? Please let me know.

Hi! we are new in this forum and I am very happy that I found it - because sometimes I have questions and I need help. I own a 2012 Camplite, all aluminum floor. I have been using it for 5 years (I bought it new) and I think is one of the best travel trailers in the market. After 5 years of use we replaced some parts (faucet, shower, GFCI outlet, antenna, vent lids) still looks like new - no rust (obviously), no rotten parts  ;)
I highly recommend it!  :)
