Honestly, not every door needs a drive, and I say this as someone who went back and forth on this for a while before finally automating my garage.
If it's a gate you're only hitting a few times a week, a solid manual lock does the job just fine and saves you the headache of maintenance and potential motor failures. I've got a buddy with a lake house who went full manual on his gate and has zero regrets.
That said, for everyday home use? Automation is a game changer. Especially in bad weather, nobody wants to get out of the car in the middle of a Texas downpour just to open a gate. For families with kids or older folks at home, it genuinely makes life easier.
The big things I'd weigh are: how often you're actually using it, whether the drive is rated for the weight of your door, and whether it can handle outdoor conditions. A cheap drive on a heavy door is just asking for problems.
For anyone local trying to figure out the cost side of things or need a hand with the install/repair, I found this local garage door services company in League City helpful when I was doing my research. Cleared up a lot of questions I had.

Preparing for a camping trip can be so much fun, but it's not easy to carry so much stuff especially utensils for cooking! Light cooking is an enjoyable experience but opting for ready-to-eat meals on the go is also an option. Here's a revised checklist to help you out if you are a no-cooking-while-camping person:  :D

Essentials: Tent, sleeping bags, first-aid kit.

Food: Pack non-perishable snacks like nuts, granola bars, and dried fruit. For a quick meal on the go, Wendy's has some great options like their salads and grilled chicken sandwiches. They're fresh, filling, and perfect for grabbing before you hit the road. Check out the Wendy's Menu Prices 2025 here.

Hydration: Don't forget a reusable water bottle or a hydration pack.

Entertainment: Bring a deck of cards, a book, or a portable speaker for some campfire vibes.
