Has anyone modified their hood vent so that it vents outside instead of just filtering the smoke? They must sell a kit? I've noticed a lot of high end trailers (airstream) and not so high end trailers (Rockwood) all vent outside. I'm a little disappointed that Livin Lite doesn't. 

Thanks djsamual, I think I found the article you were referring to. Been doing a lot of reading on leaf springs and shackles and I think I'm going to upgrade the shackles to 1/2" thick ones and use wet bolts or switch to lifetime bushings. The thing about leaf springs as opposed to torsion axles is that the springs require some maintenance.

Thanks for the link Dan. My trailer hasn't been delivered yet but I'll assume it will be installed with the Mor/ryde CRE3000 kit with leaf springs instead of the torsion axles. Some people said the their trailer handles better after they installed this kit. The Trailer Life article that djsamual mentioned was about 7 years old I couldn't find a more recent issue. This Mor/Ryde kit looks like an upgrade to the standard equalizer triangle and should produce a better ride. I think the wide-trac means the axles are spaced further apart. I was on a dealers lot and saw a CL 21' with torsion axles that had about 4" of space between tires and another 21' with leaf springs that looked like it had about 9" of space between tires. I've been reading a lot of pros and cons to leaf springs vs torsion suspension. I guess time will tell. One thing is for sure...the leaf spring set up has to add weight to the trailer.

Thanks Dan, I was looking at a new 16DBS at the dealer recently that he had just got in and he thought it was 2018 but it still had the older styled interior. I know someone on this board had mentioned that changes are made throughout the production year.

Speaking of VIN's, does anyone know if the VIN tells you what year your trailer is?  Just curious.

So we're thinking of selling our 2016 13QBB and moving up to a 2018 16DBS. Wife wants more room. I'm happy with what I have, easy to tow and stow, but, happy wife, happy life. Looks like they've made some changes this year, like drawers in the kitchen. She's excited about that. Actually looked at a 20' Airstream Sport which is the same size as the Camp Lite 16. We were shocked SHOCKED! at the outrageous prices they're asking and getting. And, they don't even have as many options as our Livin Lite. Did you know that you can't even get a power awning on an Airstream..$65,000. and no power awning!

Didn't know what a Hymer was till I looked on their website. Now I want one too! How much?

I'm not sure of the best place to sell it, but I do know that I inquired from a couple of dealers last year about trading my 2016 13QBB in for a larger unit and was offered about $15,000. I found the offers insulting! Ironically when one of the dealers was pitching me on a newer larger unit, he was quick to tell me how well they hold their value 

Thanks Graham, I'm experimenting with a DC/AC inverter to power the hair dryer. I can get by w/o AC power except for the hair dryer. A friend has a 2000W inverter that's powered by an RV battery that does run a hair dryer. I'm going to check it out and if that doesn't work I'm going to get that generator.

Hi Graham, will that Honda eu2000i inverter generator be able to power a 1500w hairdryer? How quiet are they? Does that propane conversion kit connect with a snap connector like the ones used for grills? The reason why I ask is, we're thinking of boon docking this summer and my wife has to have a hair dryer.

Gibby, did you check to see if your brakes still work when the breakaway switch is engaged after you removed the small battery?

Hey Bronco, IN my honest opinion I would lean toward #1 or #4. Not only do they weigh less, they have the azdel cabinets (my choice over wood). #1 has an aluminum roof and an aluminum floor, another big plus for me. Although, if you're  camping in the winter,  the aluminum floor my not be your best option.
The other thing I would take into consideration is where the trailer was manufactured. I personally would stay away from any that were assembled in Topeka (Crossroads)...just don't think their hearts were in it! For what it's worth my unit was manufactured in March of 2015 and labeled a 2016 model. Based on Dan Millers timeline, I believe it was assembled at the larger facility by the same original workers under Scott Tuttle's management.
I can also attest that my trailer was assembled with TLC. I have made a lot of modifications and upgrades to my unit that required me to look beyond the outer facade....welding, wiring etc. I believe I have a well built trailer. I also believe the new team (KZ RV) are doing a great job and are continuing to build a good product. Once again, this is just my opinion and I hope it helps in your decision.

My trailer was manufactured in March of 2015 and I don't remember seeing a seperate battery so I guess I'm all set. Thanks again for the info Dan
