So this original debt was maybe $600 from years ago. First agency called, I asked them to stop contacting me. They sold it. Second agency sends a letter, I dispute it. Radio silence for a bit. Now a third agency has it and suddenly I'm getting calls at 7:15 in the morning before I even get to work.
Same debt. Same amount. Just bouncing around like a hot potato.
This morning they called my cell at 7:04am. Then my landline at 7:22. Left a voicemail saying it's "urgent" and they need to discuss "legal action." Pretty sure they're not supposed to call that early. Pretty sure they're not supposed to keep passing it around either.
I'm not even convinced this is mine anymore. It's been resold so many times I doubt anyone even has the original paperwork.
Found this guide about fighting back when they pull stuff like this. Thinking about sending a cease and desist, but not sure if that even works when they just sell it again.
