Title: Need help choosing entryway steps material
Post by: Olas12 on June 19, 2025, 12:33:45 PM
We're redoing the front entry of our house and I want to upgrade the old wooden steps. I'm thinking stone or concrete but want something that's slip-resistant and matches our brick facade. Any recommendations on materials that look good and last through Canadian winters?

Stone steps can really upgrade the look of your front entry. Just make sure you go with a textured finish for safety.

We recently replaced our old steps with stone interlock, and it made a huge difference to the house's appearance and safety. https://oakshs.ca/front-steps-entryway/ helped us choose a material with enough grip to handle icy conditions. They also custom-designed the steps to match the proportions of our entryway and blend with our brickwork. Everything was done in a few days and they even included built-in lighting for better visibility at night. It's been two winters now and still looks brand new—no cracks, no shifting.
