Title: Thoughts on electric retractables for daily use?
Post by: Liabi on May 15, 2025, 04:23:53 AM
I'm using my truck daily for both work and personal errands, and I'm honestly getting tired of folding and flipping covers by hand. Been looking at electric retractables but not sure if the price is justified. Do they hold up over time? Are they actually weatherproof, and how's the reliability?

I've been using the PowerTraxPRO XR for about 9 months now on my Tundra and it's been rock solid. The powered retraction is smooth and remote-controlled, which is a lifesaver when your hands are full. The aluminum slats are super strong — I've stood on mine while loading gear — and the matte finish resists scratches really well. Even during storms and freezing nights, it's never failed to open or close. The drainage system keeps everything dry, and the canister stays sealed from dirt. Plus, it works with the Trax Rail System, so I've mounted a cargo box on top without losing function. For me, the convenience has totally paid off.
