Title: Google Meet control
Post by: nojim89390 on September 24, 2024, 04:08:27 AM
How do I properly hand over control to another participant in Google Meet during a video conference? I host a lot of online meetings, and sometimes I need other participants to be able to control screen sharing or have access to certain features, like chat or audio control.

There are a few simple steps to hand over control to another participant in Google Meet during a video conference. I often host online meetings, and I have also encountered the need to hand over rights to another participant. The most convenient way has been to use the "Screen Sharing" feature. In order for another participant to have control of the screen, you need to give them permission to use sharing. It is important that you have host rights, as this is what allows you to delegate control. I found useful information on the site https://www.bluedothq.com/blog/how-to-give-control-in-google-meet (https://www.bluedothq.com/blog/how-to-give-control-in-google-meet) on how to do this. First, make sure that the "Sharing" feature is turned on, then select the desired participant and give them control rights. Additionally, you can use third-party tools such as Chrome Remote Desktop if you need more control over sharing. This method helps you effectively hand over control without disrupting the flow of the meeting and keeping it organized.

Giving control to another participant in Google Meet is a simple process that allows you to collaborate effectively during a video conference. First, make sure you are in presentation mode to give control. To do this, open the presentation or document you want to share.

Start a video call and start screen sharing by selecting the desired screen or application window.

Once you have started sharing, look for the "Control" button at the bottom of the screen (it may be labeled "Manage access").

Click it to open the list of participants. Select the person you want to give control to. If they are already in the meeting, you will be able to select their name.

Click the "Give control" or "Allow control" button. Now your interlocutor will be able to control your screen, switch slides, make notes, etc.

To take control back, simply click the same button and select "Take control".
