Title: Options to replace Elixir converter
Post by: Tiny Camper on May 30, 2017, 09:36:35 PM
I just bought a 2010 QS 10.0 with a faulty power converter.  Tried to replace it with a Power Dynamics converter, but it won't fit.

Is there any replacement that will work other than the WFCO 8725?  I've heard bad things about that converter.

Or, maybe members can correct my low opinion of the WFCO product.

Thanks!

(Also, my QS has a manufacture date of 12/10.  Is it a 2010 or 2011?)

Lets see what others have to say... but the WFCO converters are used by many.  I can tell you the WFCO was a big improvement over Elixir. Power Dynamics makes a nice converter too.  We used them for a short time before we made the switch to WFCO years ago but right about that time they had some compliance issues that were solved shortly after but we just stayed WFCO as the size was compatible.

The WFCO is about 1/8" taller than the Elixir so you may have slight adjustment to make for the opening.  The year of your Quicksilver if that was the manufacturing date was probably 2011.  If I knew your VIN number I could tell you for sure.
