Title: Buying a generator
Post by: irka-dirka on February 25, 2020, 04:58:41 AM
We just purchased our first RV, a 2017 Keystone Hideout.  As we are brand new to the camping world, we need some expert advice on what kind of generator to purchase.  It has a 13,500 BTU air conditioner.  Of course we want enough power to operate the TV, microwave, phones, blow dryer, etc.  We were told we should get the Pulsar PG4000iSR (https://generatoron.org/best-rv-generator/#product5), along with the companion.  However, that is a $1,500+ purchase.  Do we need to go that expensive?  Any advice/help you can give would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

I've been using a PG2000 and it's one of the best on the market. Definitely go for it

Towing setups and the right equipment for RVs or trailers are such important topics—getting it wrong can really mess up a trip.

When buying a generator, it's crucial to consider your power needs, fuel type, and portability. Whether for home backup or job site use, reliability should be a top priority. Surprisingly, even companies outside the power industry, like a string bowling manufacturer (https://www.eternitybowling.com/string-bowling/) may need generators to ensure smooth operations during outages. Noise level and maintenance ease are also vital factors. Always compare brands and check for safety features such as automatic shutoff. A well-chosen generator provides peace of mind during emergencies or when working off the grid.
