no worries, I sorted it out quickly with trials and errors

Well, long story short, I decided to remove the original main wire from my QS 8 and replace it with a high quality wire with a junction box.

However, I quickly realized that the original wire is a total mess of wire splices, under the cover of electric tape. Trying to recreate this is hard.

If electric diagram does not exist, can anyone point me to a diagram that shows what lights come on (solid or flash) under what conditions?

We have two pairs of front corner lights, both orange (front, side)
Two pairs of rear corner lights (side is red, back is orange)
Lastly we have three sets of bumper lights, sides and center, all red.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / Re: Electric brakes

I tow my 8.0 with the super awesome V6 Rav4 and this is a much better TV with the extra 100hps. It is a huge loss to the civilization that Toyota abandoned the V6 in RAV.

Re  brakes - you can do without them but once you add them on you will be glad you did. Properly adjusted e-brakes will make the braking process much more comfortable, especially on a slope.

One word of advice: most likely you will be adding the breakaway kit as well. If your camper has a battery make your life much easier by connecting the kit to the camper battery vs adding one more, small battery from the kit as well. Perhaps you can even buy a kit with no battery at all and save a few $$$.

The installation is fairly simple but I recommend that you find some kind of 3-way wire connector as there are many cases where you will have to connect 2-1 (Y) wires and butt connectors are not that great for that.

Obviously LL has a very relaxed final quality control process in place as especially those shavings must be very easy to spot. Perhaps profit margins are very low on these campers?

Anyway, I had two families come to see my 8.0 last weekend on a campground here in Ohio. I advised them to avoid new Quicksilver and look for used units based on what I am reading here. Not that the older models were perfect!

another good idea but I think this would add too much bulk.

I spent much time trying to learn how to better prevent the tent from getting in between the poles when taking down. Also, I wrapped the offending part of poles with cheap duct tape that has very little adhesive.

What about heat shrink tubing?

That would be great, but huge shrink tubes would be needed. It would end up costing mucho dineros

ensuring there is no tent material between tubing when closing the camper is a challenging game. Have you found a fool-proof way to accomplish that?

Bike tape may indeed work. Thanks for the idea.

EDIT: kill the bike tape idea. This would cost fortune.

it is QS 8.0. I cleaned the tent inside nicely and now again horrible black stains. I even used the recommended silver polish on poles (BTW, I am originally Polish...) and that does not seem to help very much.

As much as I like the camper this is really frustrating, impossible to keep the tent clean.

Anyone came up with an idea to wrap those poles with some type of tape? I was thinking regular duct tape but am afraid that it would perhaps leak glue in heat.

my TV for my 8.0 is RAV4 with the V6 engine. Acceleration is not a problem but slowing down, especially downhill, well, I just did not like the feeling very much. I believe brakes are not adequate on the RAV4 anyway.

So with not much difficulty and cost I installed electric brakes on the camper. This made a huge difference and I recommend this to everyone.

Come on, this stupid urban legend has been debunked over and over again 50 years ago. This (attached) is excerpt from the most current version of thee Quicksilver manual.

If there is a single person (besides QS technician that wrote this bologna), that believes in this, here is the snopes article:
