Quote from: RV Squirrel on September 19, 2022, 09:15:35 PMI'm considering doing the same thing, but noticed that I could only move the front awning support back 18" instead of 24".  This puts it pretty close to the wheel well.  Do you have pictures of the final install?
I moved the back mount bracket forward 6 inches as well.
Having trouble inserting a picture. I'll try later

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: Dometic windows

Quote from: mbone110 on October 16, 2023, 01:19:32 PMWe had the same issue with loosing our kitchen window blowing off because of being unsecured.  We really appreciate this forum and especially this question/answer.  Thank you very much.  I am now working with Caravan Crazy, but it seems that our window size (500X300) is not on their website.  I am waiting for an email response. Thanks again @jimmychris .
You can buy an exact fit (though different exterior(smaller) size and it is black frame) from Tern Overland in Arizona. I replaced mine with it and there is no cutting or mods required and it simply screws in with a nice included gasket system. It is made even better than the OEM one IMHO.

General Q & A / 2016 tbs single axle roof?
July 16, 2023, 10:07:43 AM
Could a 2016 TBS have the aluminum roof and floor even though it changed to single axle? The manufactured date is 12/2015 so I am hoping it might still be aluminum roof and floor?

Congratulations. I agree with David.

We bought a 2014 model in May for the very same reasons. Wanted all the benefits of the true aluminum construction etc

Good point but I wanted to use the window without touching the awing at all.

Hi All.
Well I am halfway thru my latest project. I am converting my dometic awning from 10' to 8' on my 2014 14db.
Why you ask? because I never liked the fact that I can't open my bedroom window unless the awning is deployed. I think it was a bad design decision and effects several models from what I can see.
So far I have disassembled the unit off the trailer and removed the fabric from the roller tube, removed the torsion assemblies and marked the alignment holes/slots on the tube prior to cutting
I then marked and cut the roller tube exactly 2 feet shorter( from 114.5 inches down to 90.5 inches) and redrilled the 3 rivet holes to align with the torsion assembly end cap as well as drilled a 3/8 dia hole/slot to match the previous tube end. I still have to order a replacement fabric piece (around $150) and reinstall the fabric onto the tube and reinsert the torsion assemblies which is only about an hours worth of work. Thought about cutting the existing fabric down by 2 feet and reusing but it had been out in the Texas sun for 4 years and was taking a beating from the uv rays and the underside had enough staining to not be worthwhile. I will update this thread with more pictures once the job is complete.

General Q & A / Re: Livin Lite "no wood", BS

Do you mind me asking what the doors cost, specifically the main entry door?
Thanks

Congratulations!

An 8 hour drive isn't bad at all. We just drove 2000 miles each way to buy a used 2014 14db. All the way from NH to San Antonio Texas.  We got a very good deal from a great couple who were buying a larger livin lite. They are hard to find and we wanted a pre 2016 version for the all aluminum features.

3 days down and 4 days back. We too have an issue with the entry door but knew that before we went and i have some ideas of fixing it that will also add a feature to the camper.
I really like that rear entry hatch of your model. We are just the 2 of us and a dog so wanted the queen bed and dry bath version. Tow ours with a toyota tacoma 6 cyl and had no problems(dry weight about 2800 lbs) other than reduced gas mileage of 11-12 mpg.

We owned three pop ups before this and we really liked he open airy feel of those but tired of the half hour set up and doing that again when we got home to air out the canvas, didn't want to deal with canvas issues anymore. I think the small amount f tenting on yours is a great compromise.  Still get that nice evening air with only one small tent to maintain.
Enjoy!

We are searching for a good/clean used 21 RBS, Gray in color with a dark or cloth wood look interior, not white upholstery or trim. If you or anyone knows where we might locate this type unit, (near Waco, TX. if possible), we would greatly appreciate the assistance.  We would love to have a new one but can't quite stretch our budget that far.   Thank you in advance for the help,  Randy & Nell

this one is quite a ways from waco in knoville Tn but seems like a good value.
