We used to do dry all the time in the tent trailer (it had full shower / toilet as well).

In our 21RBS we have been using hookups more, but, are now leaning back to dry as we got it figured out now for our Weekend getaways.

Propane, just filled a tank, can't remember the last time (not last year so...), and there are 2 up front, so, this is not a limiting factor.

Power, we have an 80 folding solar panel, even running the furnace over night, this will give us a full charge each day, so this is not a limit (remember, no AC or Convection oven).

Water, one full tank, 2 people, 2 days (with showers). We also have a way to add water from buckets, and drain gray, without moving the trailer, so we can extend this until black is full (about 5 days, but by then, you want to dump that anyway :P)

Give it a try.

Yes, we knew this day would arrive, we will hang onto our 2014 21rbs period. And if you are wanting one, buy now, they will be harder and harder to find.

At least they should hold their value well, especially the earlier all aluminum ones.

A fellow Astronomer.

You may have to do what I do, and just tape some red flag plastic over it during the "Star Parties".

I do the same to the interior lights as well. Use painters tape.

Clear Skies!

I use them on mine, mostly while the trailer is in storage.

I have long been told it is better to protect them from the UV, so...

General Q & A / Re: Vail Sport Tires
September 19, 2017, 09:16:07 AM
Well, this past weekend found that our tires (those Vail Sport) had some cracks in the sidewall. They only had about 3 years and 12,000 km on them. Besides the tread was wearing quite bad on them too. Was going to replace them next spring anyway, just had to do it a bit sooner.

Went with some Westlake radial tires (recommended by my tire guy as they have had few if any problems with them), and trust me when I say it was like night and day pulling now. No more wagging back there any more.

Some food for thought!

You are correct, but in this case I think he meant the Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector was beeping. That is what I was referring to.

Don't think that detector is looking for CO2 (correct me if I am wrong). I think it is looking for CO and Propane leaks.

I think you mean the CO (Carbon Monoxide), CO2 is Carbon Dioxide, a common, and increasing gas in our atmosphere (as some would claim).

Oh, here is a picture of the coupler mod.

I have the E2 6000 lb (600 lb tongue) Round bar SKU: 94-00-0600 from http://www.fastwaytrailer.com/e2-hitch that I use on my 21RBS and Ford F150.

You would think that with a full size pickup it would not be needed, but even the F150 has a 500 lb max tongue load. Besides when it is on, it is like night and day towing, the extra sway control provided by the bars make that trailer behave behind me.

Note, there have been reports (and I had it too) that if it is the 2" coupler (5000 lb), and it only has the bolts on the top, that you could bend the coupler. Not to worry, we just add a couple of side bolts to bolt the coupler to the frame on the side. Livin' Lite has also has this fix as well (Contact them directly). Took me about 1/2 hour a drill and a couple of High Strength bolts to do the mod. No problems since. If you do a search on Google for 21rbs bent coupler, you will get some information about it.

I have a 2014 21RBS and need to get the gas spring for the main entrance door. I know it is 20" long and a Stabilus, but can't read the weight or part number off it as it is worn off.

The spring part is gone, just using it as a stop for now.

Anyone know what the part number is, or what measurements (length / Weight) I am looking for. I found ones that are the right length, but I am thinking I don't need an 85 lb spring to hold this door open

Thanks

Now, why couldn't someone at that plant notice the plate holder and the obviously new location of the tail lights. I agree, that one is a big oops, and something I would have them fix as it might affect the warranty.

As for the wheel wells, this is a well documented issue, even I had problems with that as well on my 21RBS. Nothing some rubberized undercoat / rockergaurd  won't fix

I have a 2014 F150 FX4 with the 3.5L Ecoboost, and the 21RBS. I use a WD hitch and it makes all the difference in the world. Trust me on this one!

Gibby, did you check to see if your brakes still work when the breakaway switch is engaged after you removed the small battery?

Yes! So long as the house battery is in...

I have the 2014 and the small battery (or should I say had the small battery).

For some reason that small battery was wired in parallel, and thus, when I disconnected the house battery the small battery was still connected and using power to run all that other stuff (propane detector, clock in radio etc.) and thus was going very dead.

Have since removed it as it was not needed.
