Bob,

I just purchased a 2017 6.0 Off Road edition and really love it.  The wife and I just came back from our 2nd trip in 5 weeks and have no complaints except for the bed mattress.  I purchased a $150 memory foam mattress and cut it down to the right size after our first outing.  This weekend I slept like a stone.  I'd buy it again tomorrow if I didn't have one already.  Workmanship and quality seem to be really good.  No concerns about getting years of use out of the camper.

Upgrades and Modifications / Bike rack on a 6.0

Has anyone added one of this bumper mounted hitch receivers the the bumper of a QS 6.0?  Looking for a way to use my hitch mounted bike raack the carry a couple of bikes. I looked at the hit adapter that has a main receiver and a accessory receiver and don't like the amount of clearance that would leave between the bike and the trailer.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / Covers

I have a 6.0 Off road QS and am wonder about covers for the off season.  Do I need a cover since it already has a tonneau snapped over the top?  Seems redundant especially since the whole this is aluminum.

If you are using a cover, any suggestions on the best one for the job would be appreciated.

What about heat shrink tubing?

Have you thought about using an electric ceramic heater?  Might be a simple solution unless you are in really cold weather.

Good point. Never thought about the insurance angle.

Thanks for the response.  Car already has a hitch for her bike rack.

I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris with a similar size engine and am confident it could tow it.  Believe the Yaris as a 1500cc and I've pulled a 350 lb cargo trailer without knowing it was even attached.

General Q & A / Anybody towing a 6.0 with a Prius
July 22, 2017, 04:50:20 PM
Just curious if anyone is town a QS 6.0 with a Prius?  My mother-in-law has a 2010 model and is considering borrowing mine if her car will pull it.  Looked on Prius websites and everyone seems to be a bit squeamish about towing anything with a Prius.  Couldn't ever figure out exactly why but am assuming it something to do with the CVT technology.

Any thoughts/comments appreciated.

Astrolite,

Didn't think about the skid plate.  I have the 6.0 offroad edition which doesn't have the skid plate.

Take a look at this hitch.  Some amazing angles are shown off in their photo gallery.

Check the axle out for OEM stickers and labels.  Mine had everything needed to get some additional info from the OEM.

Daver,

Haven't done it yet but imagine it would be pretty straight forward.  I recently used the kit found at the following link to add both USB and a cigarette lighter plug receptacle to my daughters car.  Kit had all the necessary cabling that you could tap into existing leads coming out of the power converter under the sofa.

Good luck.
