The swing out shower curtain is a great solution!  Easy install and provides nice additional room in the bathroom when pushed in out of the way.

Thanks for sharing

CampLite Travel Trailers / Stove Hood Fan
March 26, 2018, 03:22:43 PM
We just got back from a shake down trip with our new 2018 21RBS.

There isn't a hood fan above the 2 burner stove so the smoke detector went off a lot because it sensed heat while cooking.

Right above the stove is a convection/microwave oven that is awesome but I wished there was an integrated hood fan.

Has anyone got any ideas about how to add a hood fan above the stove and below the Microwave unit without compromising the side wall of the trailer

Thanks, I'm going to be going up on the roof soon to install anew FanTastic fan as well.

I called the 800 number for Winegard and they were excellent!  Gave me a trouble number and asked me to check all connections roof and inside.  RThey said if is still doesn't work they would replace the unit installed initially.

I am guessing the roof connection is the culprit as you suggested.  Everything inside seems fine however here is what I did to be sure...

I took the plate off and disconnected all coax and power connections.  Then I reconnected the power, tested for 12+V.  That was all good.

I reconnected each coax cable to the back side of the plate and as soon as I touched the the final coax that comes from the antenna to the connecter at the back of the plate the power light on the front of the plate goes off as if there is a short in the system.

I'll keep you posted once I can get up on the roof.  The trailer is stored at a storage lot now as we just got back from our shake down trip last weekend.

I have run the AutoScan on the TV in our unit a number of times and it comes back with 0 channels found each time.

Our previous RV had an antenna that used to pick up a number of channels when the scan was run and both units were parked in the same place in front of the house so I am pretty sure it isn't a weak signal issue.

The connection in the ceiling outlet has a tiny push button to turn the antenna on/off.  There is a small led light that turns on green for less than a second when I push the switch on/off but the light doesn't stay on.  The coax connection from the outlet to the TV seems tight on both ends.  I haven't checked if there is an issue on the roof of the trailer but I assume with it being a brand new trailer all is good there as well.

Anyone know what the brand is of the Antenna?  Has anyone experienced a similar issue with their TV not finding any over the air scans for channels?

We are going for our first trip to test out the unit at which point I expect to be able to connect to a cable connection at the site so hopefully a connected cable scan is going to work fine, if not then I obviously have a different problem.

Any input or advice would be helpful in the meantime.

Thanks Rod

Getting our new unit ready for some camping today.

Turned on the accent lights on the interior and also the switch for the rope light underneath the awning and outside speakers.

We hear the sound of a fan running coming from down by the electrical control box by the floor in the kitchen.

Does anyone know what is making this sound and is it something we need to be concerned with?

It appears to happen only when the rope light switch is turned on but I can't be positive.  That is when I turned that switch off the fan sound appears to go away.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So DocktorJJ,

I plan to buy the shower curtain you modified, however, I believe they come in 2 sizes.  Which model number did you use.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info.  I did see some instructions for how to modify the rod but your added information is definitely going to help especially about having to drill new holes.  I assume the screws provided aren't going to be too long to to secure into the side wall?

Thanks I did see that swing out curtain when I was searching solutions.  Any chance you have some pictures of what you had to modify to make it fit?

I also found a shower door solution that might work but I am guessing the shower space is already tight so what you did looks like it gives you more elbow room for sure.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Shower curtain solutions

So I am wondering if anyone has come up with a good solution for hanging the shower curtain so it doesn't hang outside the shower enclosure.  It appears that the curtain delivered with our new 21RBS has a flimsy feel to it and it looks like it barely stays inside the enclosure.

I was thinking about putting Velcro on the bottom hem and having sticky Velcro at the bottom of the shower enclosure to attach to but I think that could get messy over time.  Another option I guess would be to get a new curtain (more industrial strength) but I still wonder if it would blow out the bottom rim which doesn't seem to be very deep.

Has anyone installed a sliding plexiglass shower door if there is one available?

Lana / Larry,

What are the dimensions of the original table.  You mention 34" x 42" but I believe that is the new table size?

I am considering adding 2 folding table legs under the table top to fold down to support any table wobble.  I would install the legs on the open side of the dinette so someone could still sit on the inside without having the legs in the way.  The folding legs are 27 1/2" so I don't know if I have enough room to install them under the table top?

Thanks Rod

Thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like I may give it a try.  Was hoping I wouldn't have to get on the roof but based on the input, taking the whole old unit out is the only option.

If any of you that did it yourself could send a picture of the how the roof looks after the install, that would be great.

Hi everyone,

We just bought our new 2018 21RBS and can't wait to get it on the road.

The unit came with a 9" Vortex Fan in the living space.  The on/off switch seems defective and the fan starts all by itself.  Livin' Lite sent me a new switch to install but I haven't done that yet.

I would like to replace the Vortex fan with a FanTastic fan.

Has anyone done that and if so please let me know what challenges I might encounter.

I was hoping I could simply replace the fan motors and not have to remove the original housing from the Vortex fan.  I'd like not to have to open up the roof seal on the current fan.  Any suggestions?

Thanks Rod
