Title: RV tire repairs
Post by: Inspector Don on May 02, 2018, 08:05:15 PM
After dismounting and inspecting several new RV tires, I have discovered that many have had punctures repaired. The latest was a model by Sunset Park RV.  Three of the tires had been repaired. None of the repairs met the TIA recommendations. One repair was in an area where repair is not allowed. This may be one reason so many New RV tires fail. Most of the tires are not properly balanced. Some were out of balance by over 4 ounces. We make it a practice to balance all the tires we mount. We also throw away the cheap valve stems and replace then with Quality stems that are rated for the Tire pressure. It could be that the issue with RV tires is more than just the tires.

I'm at the point I need to replace the tires on  my 2013 13QBB, do you recommend one brand over any other?  Factory tires are ST175/80D13 with a C load rating.
