Title: Panel Popping Out
Post by: chappy133 on November 21, 2017, 06:43:41 PM
Any ideas on what caused this and recommendations on how fix?

It looks like the nails are being pulled out by warped plywood... I never thought I'd say that in a livin lite forum  :(

Maybe try hammering it back down with some double-stick tape underneath? My guess is some moisture from the bathroom is causing the plywood to swell. What material are the nails going into?

Same thing here on a 2017 CL11FK. Different place though, on the left corner of the fridge. The trim strip is azdel, not wood. Not a moisture issue. Azdel must expand/contract at a higher rate due to temperature changes. My trim strip was bulging from day one. My snooping revealed that the trim strip was installed flush with the ceiling and floor with no room to grow (expand) with fluctuating temperatures. I removed about 1/8" from each end with a sharp blade and reinstalled. Bingo!

The trim strip is azdel, not wood.

Maybe on your trailer it is, but take a closer look at the original image:

The azdel on my trailer has a white core and has fuzzy edges where it's cut. This has a dark irregular core with sharp splinters where it's cut. Looks like luan plywood to me.

Was this purchased new?  I wonder if someone made a quick switch because a panel was damaged and used luan instead of azdel.

Bought new.  Built in January 2016. Last of the aluminum roof models.  I was getting some moisture in the shower through the "sink" adapter I added but this occurred a while back. So that might be the cause.

Thanks for your recommendations.
