Title: Electrical Wiring Question - DC & Duplex Outlets?
Post by: metalgyspy on September 08, 2020, 07:00:21 PM
Greetings all, I need help understanding the electrical system in my 6.0 Quicksilver.  When under DC power, the lighter plug, 2 USB plugs and the Fan/Light Jack all work - but neither of the duplex outlets are powered.  I'm not looking to run the AC on the single plug, but I would expect the duplex outlet near the convertor would be powered by DC.  Am I expecting too much of the system?  Do others have a different experience?  I seem to have an unused 15 Amp fuse (slot #3) and am temped to tie it into the duplex outlet.  I'm in need of a solution or a word of caution if appropriate.  Thanks

There are several types of Electrical Outlets that serve a variety of devices but all of them have the same purpose: to provide an easy and accessible way to supply power to a load.

The optimal way is to contact the manufacturer for the axel on your camper or trailer and simply ask them by providing them your serial number. The alternative way is to physically take apart the parts in the trailer and look at applicable part numbers.

Check the fuse: Make sure the 15 amp fuse you mentioned is the correct type for the circuit you want to use it on. If the fuse is not the correct type, it may blow immediately when you install it, or it may not provide the correct level of protection for the circuit.

Check the wiring: Make sure the wiring to the duplex outlets is connected properly and that there are no loose or frayed wires.

Test the converter: Make sure the converter is functioning properly and supplying the correct voltage to the circuit.
