Title: Off road kit for 21BHS
Post by: tbrady on March 10, 2017, 03:04:43 PM
I know Livin Lite doesn't offer this anymore but are there any major downsides to putting on the Dexter lift-kit and larger tires?  We do quite a bit of camping on national forest land where a little extra clearance could really help.  I don't plan on doing this anytime soon, mainly just curious if there are "technical" issues why doing this is bad...

Did you ever get any reply's or answers to this? Perhaps from different forums / sources? I'd be interested in this too. I live fairly close to a lot of Crown Land where we could camp for free.

We recently purchased a 2018 CL21RBS with Offroad Package Option. It has 15" tires VS standard 14". Not sure how much extra lift the kit provides VS standard trailer. The 2018's have leaf springs VS previously used torsion axles, so this may not be available for your application.

Tires have plenty of clearance, suspect shackles at leaf spring ends are a little taller than standard but not verified by actual measurement. Our unit tows very well with this package, no hint of being top heavy, trailer rides smooth. Suspect the higher profile may negatively impact fuel mileage slightly.
