Hey, all.  When I bought my '17 QS 10.0, the one my dealer had that was spec'd how I wanted was one with the off road package.  I didn't think much about it at the time, but after getting it home I have some thoughts.  My suggestion is that unless you truly need the extra ground clearance, I'd go with the standard package.  the extra height makes it very difficult to move around with the standard tongue jack; even fairly low there is a lot of chatter and complaining, and my lower tube is already bent a bit just from moving it around my driveway.  Also the stabilizer jacks are harder to find the right fit, in my opinion.  I also think the larger wheels and tires are going to have more issues with wheel balance.  Don't get me wrong, I really like my trailer, just wish my dealer had one I liked with the standard package.  YMMV.

Upgrades and Modifications / My first mods,--QS 10.0
April 29, 2017, 03:13:52 PM
I sprayed the inside bottom of the tent with permethrin.  I've used this stuff for years on hiking clothes and it does a good job of not just repelling bugs but killing them.  Lasts a couple of months.

I put some velcro strips on the back of the backsplash and on the back of a power strip I picked up, that also has usb outlets.  much handier than the bottom plug.  We never use the sink, anyway.

I made some pvc spreader bars.  I didn't like the amount of sag in the tent, particularly at the door if it was rolled up.  Helps a little, and was all off the shelf stuff from Lowes.  $25 bucks.  I may try to put a wooden strip inside it to stiffen it up, and sew up something with pockets to hang light stuff.  I also may trip the ends a bit.  It's not a perfect fit due to the compound bow of the bimini bar.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / tongue jack wheel
April 22, 2017, 09:33:33 PM
We're used to rolling our T@B around quite easily, and the QS should be similarly easy.  However, the small wheel on the tongue jack does not like to change directions, and chatters and complains.  Is it possible to replace it with something that will roll more easily?  Thanks

QuickSilver Tent Campers / kitchen storage

What do you guys use for storage in the kitchen locker?  I'm thinking some combination of plastic totes, like the Sterilite, but wondered what others used.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / spreader bars

Has anyone added an additional spreader bar?  Or 2?  I'm thinking of trying 2, out near the sides, both to support the door a little better, (It sags, esp. when rolled up), and to provide a place to hang some light hanging storage containers.  Thoughts?  Any concerns about water pooling on top?  Thanks

General Q & A / greetings, and a few questions
April 22, 2017, 09:18:23 PM
Greetings, all.  I just purchased my QS 10.0, and currently have it set up in my garage, trying to figure out where everything will go.  We are moving from a T@B, since we just can't fit three grandkids plus us in it anymore.  Any tips for a newbie?  I'll be posting some specific questions but I thought I'd introduce myself first.
