I have about 11,000 miles and 240 nights on my 2014 Camplite 14DBS, purchased new. 10,000 of those miles pulled by a Honda Ridgeline, with no weight distribution hitch.  I now pull with a 2021 Ford F-150/V8/2wd.  Swaying at interstate speeds has never really been a significant problem, and I rarely go above 70 mph.  65 Mph is my target. I thought the Ford would yield a smoother ride, as it is just a tighter, tougher truck. Actually the opposite has happened. The camper / truck combo seems to yield a rougher, bounce filled ride.  [Unless I'm just getting old and cranky at 66].   We never carry water, have empty tanks, and pack extremely lightly.  Probably 100#s of items are now carried in the truck bed, that used to be in the camper under the bed, just for convenience. The F-150 does not swat under the minimal tongue weight.

Do I need a weight distribution and/or a sway hitch?  The sway bars look like they would put stress on the trailer frame, and with this frame being aluminum, could I damage my camper frame?  I'm trying to make towing more comfortable, and safer.   Your experience and expertise appreciated.

Just found out about this "new" forum.  During the transition and life events we were in and out of the forum.  We are Ron and Anita and Reilly (Cairn terrier).  I think I used to have a name of Dogband on the first forum administer by Shawn. Is he still around?  First class guy and family.  Hope you all are well wherever you are.  Any others from a rally at Table Rock SC?

We are on our 5th year of a 2013 model 14dbs, bought new in April of 2014.  Not many upgrades, a shelve here and there, foam floor tiles, new Maxxis tires--which seem to be great.  Routine maintenance.  Covered in summer and winter with cloth cover and homemade roof trusses and tarp.  Every system still working fine.  Seems like we have about 150 nights in the camper so far ... that seems low.... last year was over 50 nights.  Have to check on that one.  We try to be out during the week and in spring and fall.  Not much on the summer heat.

Safe travels to all.

No lights now, and the fuse was blown.  I replaced it with a couple of other fuses, and still it blows fuses.  I took the connectors off the switch, and touched them together ... thinking I had a bad switch, it just blew another fuse.

So I have a short somewhere. How can I start to figure this out?  I have LEDs, so I will take these out and look for a shorted wire, but this is a needle in a haystack.

Any ideas on how to remedy this issue?

Many thanks.  Is Shaun still and administrator to this forum?
