General Q & A / broken leveling foot - quicksilver 8.1
August 02, 2022, 12:52:34 PM
Can anyone tell me where to get spare parts for a Quicksilver 8.1 camper?  I broke one of the leveling/stabilizing feet on the corner of the body.  I don't know if that is a Livin Lite specific part, or a generic camper leveling foot.  I haven't done a detailed inspection of the foot, but I don't see any part numbers or manufacturer names on it, so not sure where to look for a replacement.

Thanks

As I am going over the new camper, checking things out, I have come up with another question.  My camper has the 15" off-road tires, but the spare is a smaller tire.  From reading various posts, it sounds like the off-road tires would not fit in the spare tire location for older campers, so a smaller spare had to be installed underneath the trailer.  Is the smaller spare still usable in the event of a flat tire on one of the 15" tires?  I'm guessing that the camper would just sit tilted to one side, but I am curious if there is a reason to attempt to install a full size spare tire.

I just bought a 2015 Quicksilver 8.1 yesterday, and from reading the owner's manual, it appears that one of the critical maintenance tasks is to check and lubricate the wheel bearings.  Some posts mention Bearing Buddies or Dexter axles or other options to use a grease gun to change the bearing grease, but I don't know if I have that option.  I have never owned a camper of any sort.  Is there an on-line reference showing how to determine if I have the grease gun option, and if not, a description of how to check and lubricate the wheel bearings?  I am fairly comfortable with tools and torque wrenches and mechanical stuff, but is this a maintenance item that is better left to professionals?

Thanks.
