WOW...

I would have never guessed that, thank you!  Did the plug-in light come with the camper?  We bought our 2017 model used this year.

A 1/4 inch headphone jack fits into that outlet and it looks like an audio socket...and with all of the local/remote switchable LED lighting in the ceiling, with one of the LEDs being adjacent to the pop-out bed, it seems redundant to have yet another light outlet.  I noticed Camplite only included this with some models, and some specific years.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: Frame Separated from Tongue

I agree with the load distribution hitch putting undue forces on the tongue welds.

Also, I run my 11FK naked...meaning that my potable, grey and black tanks are all empty, I haven't added anything to the camper frame behind the hitch (like additional batteries or propane or job boxes), and I make sure that we keep the trailer loaded WAY below its maximum during towing.  All heavy stuff like extra water, tool boxes, extra propane, cooking griddle and gas grill, turkey fryer, spare tire, jet pack, oscillation overthruster, 88mm cannon, etc...stay in the tow vehicle bed (Toyota Tundra).

I also keep my normal tow speed below the speed rating of my tires...i.e., 65MPH with 70MPH rated tires.  This reduces the peak acceleration forces of bumps to the wheels, axle and frame.  Finally, when traffic allows I go over to the passing lane as it tends to be less torn up from truck traffic.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: Dometic windows

Yep...go get a sheet of 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch Plexiglas and make sure it is big enough to fit your window opening PLUS another 2-1/2 inches all around.  When cutting to final dimension, round the corners nicely to approximately match the corner radius of your Dometic windows.

Use a continuous bead of clear silicone to adhere the plexi to the camper shell.  Use painters tape or if necessary Gorilla duct tape to keep it attached to the camper while the silicone cures.  You will need to use plastic auto body panel removal tools, Goof Off caulk remover liquid and plastic putty knives to pry it off when your replacement Dometic arrives.

Also, look on eBay, Amazon, Camp World and call other trailer manufacturers who are using the double pane Dometic plastic windows.

Hi All,

I have a 2017 Livin Lite 11FK, and stuck to the ceiling right above the pop-out bunk is the thing in the photo.  It looks like a stereo jack, but it makes no sense.  Is it for a subwoofer plug in?  Is it to plug in headphones for silent listening to the TV?  Speaker "A" and "B" are in the camper and outside, respectively, is this speaker "C"?

I plugged in headphones with the stereo on and switched on all speakers and the subwoofer, to no effect.  I did get a hum in the headset from the LED lights.  I have not turned on the TV yet and tried to use the headphones.

Thanks for looking.

New Members / Re: Sensitive smoke detector

My guess is that you may have a smoke detector that is past its useful life and is letting you know that it needs to be replaced.  Most newer detectors poop out after 5 to 7 years and start beeping once expired...even the carbon monoxide sniffer will start beeping at you at the 7 year point.  So replace it with a new one.

Regarding toaster oven setting off the smoke alarm...yep...nearly anything cooked on or around the stove except boiling water sets it off.  Running the roof vent fans helps, but my detector is now attached to the ceiling with weapons-grade 3M velcro...same stuff used to attach your toll pass to your windshield.  I give the detector a twist and toss it on the bed when I'm cooking.  Before I jump into bed, the detector goes back on the ceiling.

Finally, if your fridge is running on propane, make sure that its exhaust vent isn't plugged...go up topside after opening the freezer and fridge for a minute and see if you feel heat rising.  If your fridge combustion exhaust isn't exhausting, this could be an issue...especially if you have a combination smoke detector and CO alarm in the ceiling.

If you find my answer useful, please send me half your retirement savings in cash.  If you don't find it useful, send me a bottle of Bulleit for my efforts ;D

BTW...having to go through 5 steps of verification hell to post on this forum is ridiculous.
