Onroad, I checked out mine and I'm not seeing the flexing issue with the bed walls.

Is your floor composite or aluminum?  If composite, it's a 2018.  I'll check the beds on the 2018 I have and post back later this afternoon.

The 2018 with off road kit has a spare on the under carriage, right behind the step.  As far as I know, the spare is standard for the 2017 and 2018
isn't listed as an option on the sales order form.

I would recommend poles that adjust between 6-8 ft.  I have the off road kit and use a tarp for the awning with wooden closet rod for the poles.  I have mine cut to 7.5 ft.

My lovely wife and I were just up in Kentucky this week viewing the eclipse and I made a point to stop by a dealer there to look at a 2017 model QS to see an aluminum floor model for myself. In case anyone's in the market, Garland RV in Hopkinsville, Ky has one unsold 2017 QS 8.0 left on their lot.

Hey, I was close to you this week and almost drove up to Garland RV.  I was at Land Between the Lakes.

I haven't added a switch myself yet, but it's on the list.  I'm looking at this one another owner used and he mounted it to the battery box.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0058SGFLM/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IS4W74PZSAA3T&colid=UMFM0L2KJY8C

Also it must be pretty thick overall, more than 1" to have an R10 rating.

David

It seems to be about 1.5-2 inches.

Noticed I used the word currently.

Dan....Thank you.  Good to know someone is listening.

I 99% sure one of the benches is not removable in the 8.0\8.1, as it needs to be modified for the bigger wheel wells.  The wheel wells are bigger because they now use 15" tires for the standard package.

According to Livinlite, the benches are removable on the 2018 8.0/.8.1.

RockorSomething, thank you for the correction.

Agreed.
I'm really trying to give Livinlite the benefit of the doubt with their product decisions. I know that, done properly, composites are superior to aluminum.
But their silence is frustrating.

I'm with you, and if it wasn't for the poor quality and cost reductions elsewhere, I would be more open to the change.  I really think they need to redesign the frame to give support across the center span, so it feels a little more solid.

Just a quick question. Do these changes apply to the 8.0 and 8.1 trailers? Have the floors in those models been replaced with all composite, the 12v outlets done away with, and the dinette made immovable? If so I'm going to be in the market for one that is used.

Yes, the floor is changed across the tent camper line, as well as the 12v outlet (replaced with USB).  I 99% sure one of the benches is not removable in the 8.0\8.1, as it needs to be modified for the bigger wheel wells.  The wheel wells are bigger because they now use 15" tires for the standard package.

We drove 3.5 hrs to the nearest livin lite dealer. We bought it and 2 hrs after we had problems and it will be going back this Friday to the dealership.  QC/QA let this one slip by. We looked for 3 yrs before we pulled the trigger and I can't help be disappointed. Hopefully they won't be like every other manufacturer I've read on about the horror stories and they will do the right thing. The dealership seems to want to do the right thing.

If you don't mind my asking, what model did you get and what were the issues?

Wow! Great video showing all of the details of the 2018 change-ups. I have to say though that build quality must be all over the place on these because my unit's frame welds look a lot cleaner and straighter than those on your video. Mine is a standard on-road model and came off the line 22 June 2017.

Interesting, so maybe I got the prototype and they started to dial things in the following week when yours was made :).  Thank you for the information on Lamilux.  I posted the videos on the Quicksilver Tent Camper group on Facebook, and one of the members who is into composites wanted to know what they use.  On your frame, did they add any additional support for the floor?  How did your kitchenette look.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / 2018 Quicksilver 10.0

For those who are interested in the 2018 Quicksilver 10.0, here is a series of videos detailing the inside, outside, and changes to the 2018 model.  Although I offer up my own opinions, I recommend reserving judgement until you've had a chance to check one out in person.  I reached out to Livin' Lite and K.Z. five days ago about some of my issues and concerns, so I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

Hey, another Marylander!  What dealer you getting it from?  I recommend reaching out to them, as they might not even be aware of the switch.

I am actually traveling out to Illinois to get it. The local dealer in Gambrills Md. (still 2 1/2 hrs away..over the Bay Bridge to boot) didn't have what I wanted and frankly had an attitude I didn't like at all.  I still like the features of Livin Lite. I love the design and I had faith in the company. That is being a little shaken right now by these reports of problems.  I have heard quality control issues on all manufacturers I researched, so I'm going to stick with my choice. However I think it's a crying shame that the lack of pride of workman ship these days has people forced to accept sub par work because there isn't any other choice. And I mean that in relation to most things produced, not just RVs.

I know which dealer you're talking about and that's where I discovered Livin' Lite as they had a 2017 8.0.  I ended up picking mine up in North Carolina last week.  I'll have the video covering floor and under carriage uploaded today.  After watching that, you may want to reach out to your dealer just to cover the details before you make the trip.
