QuickSilver Tent Campers / Re: What's the difference?

Yeah, it was a bummer to hear Dan isn't around.  He was very helpful.

This is a long shot, but any chance one of you has the awning\awning kit, and drapes?  Not that I would expect them to weigh 60 lbs, but maybe they take those into consideration when printing the sticker.

They are the same model year?  Any difference in the axle?

I've been told Dan is no longer there.

1) Camco Single LP Tank Cover and battery disconnect switch.

I'm stealing every one of these mods, starting with this one.  For the tank and battery, did you have to move them forward to fit the tank cover, or were they already in those spots?  I have the same Camco cover, but there is no room between the front of the camper and the tank.  You did an amazing job on the bench mod.

Dan, on those aluminum tubes, are they placed a specific distance apart or only along the outside edges?

Hi ssixlashes,

Here are some of the facts uncovered over the past two months:

RockorSomething spoke to LL and received the following information:

The following are the laminated floor information.

·         Absolutely NO WOOD in the super structure, including the floor system

·         5 layers-We use 5 layers to construct the floor.  Lamilux fiberglass top, 1-layer of Azdel, polystyrene(High-density block foam insulation), lastly another layer of Azdel and Darco protective wrap

·         Most laminated floor systems use wood product called luan, LL DOES NOT use wood.  We have thoroughly tested(weight per sq inch) this new and improved floor with the fiberglass top layer. it has outperformed the luan constructed laminated floor system used by many manufacturers in the RV industry.

·         Aluminum framed floor. R-value is 10 VS previous way was R-0

·         Heat/Cold transfer is less do to the insulated floor over the aluminum floor

·         High-density Block foam adds noise reduction

·         More comfortable to stand on, Smooth fiberglass top, no ridges like the aluminum floor system

·         This new advanced floor is lighter weight than the old floor system.

You may also want to join the Livin Lite Owners Group and Livin Lite Tent Owners Group on Facebook, as more information is being shared there.  A user named Mike Arnold uploaded a good pic comparing the two floors.

General Q & A / Real Tree Basecamp Kitchen

Anyone know if the mobile kitchen which came with the Real Tree toy hauler is still available as an aftermarket item, or if there is anything similar out there?  I found an old price sheet showing it was an option for about $1k.

I have a 10.0 and have no problem opening and closing it myself.

Another fan of PA state parks here.  I'm in Maryland and we go up there all the time.  Codorus is one of our favorites.

A 2018 14XLP? If so, that is a rare bird indeed! Did it have the alu plank floor or composite?

Composite.  Overall it looked pretty good and they added a little of the trim back into the kitchenette, but not all of it, and had it secured with screws.  The only real problem I saw were the brackets holding up the water tank on the underbelly.

I just did a quick search on RVTrader.  Al-Pro RV in alliance comes up as the closest (238 miles) and the next closest was Leo's Vacation Center in Gambrills, MD (just under 300 miles).  Leo's is close to me, so if you have any questions about their offerings, let me know.  I was just in there on Saturday taking a look at a 2018 14XLP they have in stock.

Total Weight:  1280 lbs.
Cargo Weight:  320 lbs.
Hitch Weight:  190 lbs.

2018 10.0 - LP, AC, rear deck, 2200# axle, off road tires

For the tent camper, they finally updated the website this past week, although it still leaves me with questions.  The 14XLP is no longer available.  The brochure shows the orange model, but orange is no longer listed as an option for color, as well as the yellow and light blue which is being shown on all the marketing pics.  For the model 10, they have included interior pictures of the 2018 as well as the 2017, which is great, because now you can see the drop in quality with the 2018s.  In this picture of the 2018, you can actually see the aluminum shavings sticking out of the back of the kitchenette, where there used to be trim.

Here are a couple of pictures of the underside of the camper, showing the flush mount of the support members. The floor on mine is firm enough ( I would have preferred the aluminum plank....) How has LL addressed your problems?
WOW!  Your frame addresses some of my major issues with the new floor.  I can't understand why they didn't keep it like yours.  The grey electro-flex, is that a mod you did?

LL hasn't fully addressed my problems, but they're slowly working on it.

We placed the order mid January, it was a custom build, it was finished mid April. Unfortunately we have no sticker with date information. All the metal underside supports, both the main and mid supports are flush to the underside of the composite floor. We can hardly feel the floor flex when we walk around.
Onroad, is there any chance you can get a pic of the undercarriage?  Sounds like your frame is a bit different from mine and smjcolsga's, and ours were manufactured in June.
