Truckcamperwarehouse in Chesterfield NH has a few 16 and 11 ft models, they're good folks.  Probably about 6 or 7 hours from you.

They've used a couple inverters over the years, do you know which manufacturer/model is in it?

I think DavidM has an informal meet-up going on (August maybe?) near Schroon Lake NY.  There's a thread on it somewhere.

So an excuse to buy a new tool! Lucky you!

I've been told a standard wall stud finder will work but I haven't tried it to confirm that.

Or a large company with deep pockets would buy said company and slowly reduce the quality using techniques like "standardizing parts across product lines" so that the industry retains the status quo of eager buyers and cheaper less well made products which result in higher profit margins.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: Propane

I have a 2013 13 QBB, with one tank, on mine there is no valve other then the one on the tank itself.  You could try the water heater and see if that lights, it would be the closest thing to the propane tank. It sounds like a blocked line or maybe regulator gone bad.

If you have the 3 way fridge it will go for AC first, propane second and the on-board battery last so the quick answer to your question is yes.  You should know though that the fridge uses very very little gas and in a three day period I don't think you could use enough to measure the before and after difference.  A 20 lb tank can go for months if it's just supplying the fridge.

General Q & A / Re: Tire Pressure

Good info, thanks. I was actually thinking of raising tire pressure on the tow vehicle not the trailer. Any thoughts?

Unless the toy haulers are different then no, the freshwater tank won't fill from the City water connection. Most of the time there is a separate freshwater tank fill located right next to the City water connection. I do recall that someone else on the forum mentioned that they flat did not have a freshwater tank fill and it was very confusing. Maybe yours is the same as theirs?  There should definitely be drain fitting on the freshwater tank when you find it.

CampLite Travel Trailers / Re: BATTERY draining ??

One possible thing that will drain a battery quickly is the emergency brake switch-  that braided steel cable you hook to your tow vehicle.
Make sure the plunger isn't out where the switch is on the frame.

That switch does NOT run through the disconnect switch since you may need it towing with the disconnect switch off.

Good Catch!!

Sounds like a job for a voltage tester. One would certainly think that with the battery disconnect turned off there is nowhere for the power to go but obviously that's not the case based on your description. How do you know there is current flowing when not on shore power and the battery disconnect off?

General Q & A / Re: Dexter Axle

I think just a little let down.  They switched from torsion to spring pretty much across the board sometime in the last 12 months or so and many trailers are leaf spring.  Shouldn't be a safety issue.

I wish I could weld, especially aluminum.

The change to steel frame is just another step.  The fact that the name Camplite may stick around within the Venture RV line isn't really important.  The product as it existed is gone.  Simply put, an aluminum frame, aluminum wall, aluminum roof, no wood camper was conceivably a lifelong camper and no company wants to build a lifelong camper, it eats into return customers.
