You have filled the water tank?  The city water connection is direct water supply.  To use the tank water you have the fill the tank using the larger tank fill cap.

General Q & A / Re: Recaulking over silicone
March 31, 2019, 10:00:04 AM
Howdy,

Try a search of "Aluminum Campers Forum" they have a few posts on caulking and silicone.

I siliconed over the front seam on our 16 TBS yesterday. Was only leaking with driving in the rain.

QuickSilver Tent Campers / Re: replacing mattress

When we had our 6.0 we used a mattress topper.  Worked well but we still got some condensation. We put high density foam under the mattress which help cut down the moisture.  A 4" foam mattress should help with the condensation issue too.

Our 16 TBS came with the same crappy mattress as the 6.0 and they had to go too.

Our 16 TBS leaked via the wheel well after purchase and had it repaired under warranty but I am noticing a leak again.  Another project to adde to the list.

There is one all Aluminum RV trailer manufacture still out there but it is a toy hauler.  If we ever have replace our LL we are going to give this company a serious look over (Not Thor): http://aluminumtoyhauler.com/

We too like David have a 16 TBS.  When we had our QS 6.0 we put a foam topper and it worked great.  With the TBS to use it with and without the plate that converts between a King and Twins we ordered a custom made mattress from https://www.mattressinsider.com/custom-size-mattresses.html. They did a great job.  We got the 6" mattress but could have gone with the 4" to save weight and ease of moving them around. I will say the condensation issues under the mattress went away with the thicker mattress.

If you can go with a stock foam cover cut to size vs. a custom that could be a good start prior to sending the $$$ on the custom mattress.  I believe our custom four piece king was under $700.00.  If the foam cover does not get the job done then give Mattress Insider a call. They are a good company and have a lot of experience in the RV/Boating/Trucking industry.

Sorry I do not know the weight limit but in the manuals section of this forum they should have your owners manual with that information.

Our single axle TBS was off the line LL line in January 2016.  It was one of the last aluminum roofs. They went to TPO roofs by February.  Later on they got rid of the aluminum floors and went to a laminate floor.  The "all aluminum" they may be referring to is the frame.  I looked on the LL website and only dealer stock trailers are now available.  Happy Trails.

We love our 16 TBS.  Our Neighbors have an R-POD, a great product, but I feel our TBS is lighter than the R-POD.  The "deciding" feature that we like about the TBS is both of us can get in and out of bed without climbing over each other in a camper under 20".  Since we are both in our late 50 so there is more overnight visits to the head is occurring.  The slide out on a camper of this size makes a great difference too. Enjoy your new camper.

My receiver is Steel.  Aluminum would not survive against a steel ball.

Zipping the awning on.  If you look at my tarp to camper zipper you will see a big hunk of 550 paracord used to assist in getting it zipped on and off. Others zip it on before putting up the poles.

Is there a specific zipper size that is needed to match the zipper on the Quicksilver?

Is this the type of tarp to zipper you are referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-Tarp-Zip-Up-Zipper-System/dp/B0055F5J06

I had the dealer match and add the zipper.  I did not ask what type or size zipper they installed.  😕
