we have an older model 8.0 with air conditioning. it has the side door which houses the ac unit on a slide. the unit extends somewhat into the interior space, but it is covered, so my wife uses that area as a night stand. we like it a lot... it works very well and is well protected during transport. its the first thing we pull out as we arrive at camp.. it chills the camper down as we setup.

hello, welcome. we have an 8.0... after many seasons of use. we have placed, under both mattresses, the floor padding you would use in an exercise room or in a kitchen. it is thick foam.. but has lots of cushioning. it works very well and doesn't add much height or weight..  it is a relatively inexpensive option to try that works well. we are actually going to place this same cushioning under a carpet we have on the floor.. making the aluminum floor a little more comfortable and warmer on bear feet in the mornings.

We have had several of those over the years.... used shoe-goo to repair them all with 100% success. shoe-goo stays pliable in all weather conditions.

We use a 10x20 canopy, purchase for less than $150 through many sources. Drape a section over the top, tie it down to points on lower kitchen side using bungee cords. Adapted the original aluminum poles, cutting a section out (which is the section over the roof). This gives us a large covered outdoor space. We have side-panels that can be attached, also using bungees, for more privacy or rain protection. Canopy and sides get packed inside camper, poles either travel on top of vehicle or camper. When I find pics, i'll share a few if interested.
