I would say it depends... I am a 5'5" female of average strength. I can do most of the set up procedure myself except lifting the Bimini poles and tent. It's just too bulky and heavy. 

We have the awning but have never used it while camping. If it's really hot, we prefer to use our Pop Up Gizmo, and you can't attach both the awning and the Gizmo. If it's raining, we use a Clam Shelter for cooking and perhaps storing gear.  I like the idea of the awning, but it just never worked out for us. 

We put 15K miles on our 8.0 this summer.  Loved every minute of it!!  Now we are looking to replace the original tires but are at a loss as to which brand or type of tire to buy.  Is there an obvious best tire for this trailer?   Or maybe a reliable tire dealer to work with?

A snap came off our 8.0 camper box. The screw ripped right out of the sheet metal and left a hole too big for a replacement screw (I tried). I know the part in the tonneau cover can be easily replaced, but what about this other part?  Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Darthmosher, this is a great idea!  We have already removed the table, but now I'm going to remove one of the benches. We do use one bench for seating.   Which type of shelves do you use?  Thanks!

Well, I guess no one here has taken their QuickSilver tent trailer to Alaska!     I have been reading The Milepost, which is the definitive guide to the Alaskan Hwy.  It sounds like it could be a pretty rough trip in some parts, so we have decided against taking our 8.0 this particular trip. 

Has anyone ever taken their QS tent trailer to Alaska?  We hoping to take our 8.0 from Minneapolis to Seattle, then catch the Alaskan ferry up the Inner Passage, making stops in various locations, then taking the Alaskan Hwy home through Canada.  This would be a dream trip for us...one of those "once in a lifetime" things.  We do not have the off road model and plan on sticking to larger cities and paved roads.

I'm worried about a couple of things:
1.  The wimpy tires on the trailer. Will they survive the Alaskan and Yukon roads that can be rough at times?  We currently have the original tires...what's the best upgrade?
2.  It rains a lot in southeast Alaska, and the QS tent trailers are not easy to put up in the rain without everything getting soaked. Is there a solution to that issue?

We have the 8.0 and use a BAL leveler every time we camp.  The tire is a little small for the leveler, so we added a piece of scrap wood to make it fit snugly. Works great!

So we took the pop up out last week.  We tried the pool noodles and they worked like a charm!  Our tonneau cover was really loose, because it took a total of 8 noodles laid under it to keep the cover pulled tight. Kind of annoying to have all those pool noodles at the campsite, but hey, whatever works!

Actually, that helps a lot!!!  It's reassuring to know we're not the only ones.  We will definitely try lifting the bunk. Great tip...not sure why we didn't think of that!

We bought our 8.0 last fall. The tent is extremely tight on the short sides, you know, on the bunk ends--so tight that we can hardly snap it on those ends. I have to stand on a step stool and pull down HARD on the bimini while my husband struggles with each snap.  The tent has plenty of slack on the long ends. We have watched the Livin Lite Quicksilver set-up youtubes and we are following the recommended set-up procedure.  This can't be right!  Do you think our tent was made incorrectly??

Delta, that's a great idea...I'll put our Gizmo and tarps in that space to help fill it out.

Hello!  do they have Livin Lite campers in the U.K.?

We have a 2017 Quicksilver 8.0 that we bought last fall.  We love it but the tonneau cover seems to have been installed too loosely.  When we drive down the highway, it billows and ripples. I'm afraid this will eventually wear out or tear the cover.   

Our dealer said to bring it in, but that's 350 miles away, so I'd like to deal with it myself. Should I try to reinstall the snaps?  Or can I just use a few wide tie-down down straps?   Thanks for any advice or ideas!
