Title: Setup in cold weather
Post by: Jeepsk8 on November 27, 2017, 11:03:19 AM
I have one more outing in Dec or January that I am contemplating. My concern is with setup when it may be in the the 20's. I know that I do not touch the back window on my Jeep when it gets below freezing because the plastic window tends to crack. The instructions say to heat up the unit before setting up, but there is an assumption of temperature I guess, they don't really say what that temperature is. It really is impractical to somehow heat the thing up first. What has the collective done when it's cold outside during setup?

I have set up my 8.0 several times in cold weather.  The tonneau cover is not as flexible when I roll it up or again when snapping it down afterwards, but, other than that I have not had any issues.  I keep the tent windows zipped up the whole time as well.

Good to hear. I'm mostly worried about the plastic windows, but they seem really flexible. Not sure how they when frozen though.
