I really like the concept. Appears to be best of both ball hitch and Pintle. Only problem is the over $200 cost. Still worth looking at. Thanks for the info.

Welcome to the forum. RMNP is a great place to start. Only problem is that it will be hard to find better after that. It is such a beautiful place to camp. Enjoy your 8.1.

I have never had a problem with "torqued" bed support. I camp in national and state parks. I also boondock both in the desert and mountains. I had a BAL balancer but it was used so rarely I gave it away. Short 2x4 works fine when necessary. There is an adjustment with the bed support but difficult to use when camping solo.
I think the 6.0 is so short and has no electronics that need balancing that being level is less of an issue than longer units.

Mime look just, like, that and work fine. Never bent.

I added a 3" memory foam on top of my mattress and it felt great. The bed would close but with difficulty. I finally took the mattress off and just used the 3" memory foam. It is still comfortable and I get a good night sleep. Easy to close bed. I do camp for weeks at a time and have no problems with the bed.

Not sure what the frame differences are. I have the " off-road" version 6.0 and have no problems towing anywhere. I have thought about getting a " Pintle" hitch and may do that in the future. My ball hitch has only released once and that was in a flat church parking lot in Pennsylvania. It would be,possible to put a lift kit on but then you would need to deal with larger tires, probably wider issues. I like that it is the exact width of my jeep and tows wherever I go smoothly.

Mine has supported over 450 lbs without problem. I know that my granddaughter, chocolate lab and I will run close to 310 lbs. and that is done several times a year. I have never had an issue or concern.

Looks good. I like your side table extension.

Deb

I have camped numerous times in my QS6.0 at temperatures around 30. I have never noticed any problems with tent or cover. Cover is slightly stiffer and difficult to snap but could be my cold fingers.

General Q & A / Re: QS10 need new tonneau cover
February 22, 2017, 11:34:05 AM
The information you may need is in a message written on Feb. 10 by Dan Miller. Just search for "tonneau" and it will be listed.

Michael

I will try to copy:

Parts for any Livinlite product may be ordered through any Livin' Lite dealer.  Because of dealer agreements we cannot sell direct.  If you do not have a dealer close by, they can ask that the parts be shipped directly to you.
Note tonneau covers and tents are shipped with snaps but not attached.  This is normal practice with any tent or cover.  They are not difficult to install but you will need a snap tool.
The older tonneau covers were gray.  The replacement are black.  The part number for your 6.0 cover is: 204133 and comes with black straps and snaps.

For future QuickSilver Owner's looking for tonneau covers:
QS6.0 - PN: 204133
QS8.0 - PN: 204125
QS8.1 - PN:204127
QS10 & 14XLP - PN 204121

Upgrades and Modifications / Re: ceramic heater??
January 30, 2017, 04:12:41 PM
I agree, I have used a 1200 ceramic and it was fine into the low 30's. when boondocking, I use a Big Buddy heater that keeps things comfortable into the low 20's.

I agree that the "Jeep" version is sturdier but I am not sure how often it matters. I have a QS6 off-road that I pull with a Jeep Willys. I have spent quite a lot of nights in Utah, Arizona and California. I am leaving soon on a 4 month vacation from South of New Orleans to Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. To date, I have never found a place that I could not take my QS6. I have forded 36" desert streams and boondocked for ten days at a time in the mountains of southern Utah. If I feel safe taking my jeep there, I do not think about my QS6.
The most amazing thing is that my QS6 looks brand new. Except for the bed, there is really nothing to wear out. I replaced the mattress and installed foam block floor.
I have looked at the "Jeep" version but have no need to upgrade. I do like the looks of the Extreme edition but I also like the look of green in my wallet. I have no regrets with my QS purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a small off-road trailer that is comfortable and can be used solo.
