General Q & A / generator/inverter
November 22, 2021, 01:44:09 PM
I have a 13QBB with the air conditioner mounted through the side, looks like a conventional AC window unit.  Question is what size generator or inverter would I need to run the AC while boondocking?

I'm at the point I need to replace the tires on  my 2013 13QBB, do you recommend one brand over any other?  Factory tires are ST175/80D13 with a C load rating.

Thanks for the response.  Snow here in N.VA slowed up the vent cover replacement project but first chance I get I'll be searching for the pump.  I did notice the bed was 'disturbed' after the repair so that's the first place I'll look...but I don't remember anything other than storage space there.  Again, thanks!
Does anyone know if he still reads his emails?

I'm using a 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 V6 as my tow vehicle for a 13QBB and have had no issues.  I have to admit it works a bit pulling the rig over the mountains in WV but wheel base is long enough and the motor is powerful enough to get the job done.  I also admit I'm struck with truck envy every now and then but work requires me to park in an underground garage so that passes pretty quickly.

Thanks to both responses, I 'youtubed' the vent cover and it does look pretty easy, weather permitting this will be a weekend project.  Yes water drained out of the sink.  Update on the pump, I took the camper in for winterizing since I couldn't get the pump to work and was told the filter on the pump was clogged.  The filter was cleared and the antifreeze I'd put in the freshwater tank was used.  All good.  My big mistake was not asking where the pump is.  Prior to paying someone to do the work I'd crawled under the camper looking for it and couldn't find it.  I did discover I'm too dang old to be crawling under vehicles..

Hello all!  I'm the owner of a four or five year old 13QBC which has served me very well as a summer camper and as a comfortable camp in the fall hunting season, with this last year being the exception.  I normally do a 'dry' camp when I go hunting but last year was so warm I guess I bought into the global warming line and went up with my water tanks full.  Of course temps dipped into single digits and despite all attempts with the furnace my lines froze.  After returning from the mountains to the flat lands of Northern Virginia and draining all tanks at the Bull Run dumpsite I tried running some RV antifreeze through the system.  I poured three gallons of the stuff into the main tank, hooked up the generator for power and turned on the pump.  I can hear the pump making noise like it's trying but nothing comes out.  Of primary concern is the toilet, really wanted to get the antifreeze in the valves.  I suspect I need a new water pump.  Any suggestions and/or recommendations?  Another issue is a broken vent cover.  I've looked at the assembly and it doesn't look to user friendly as far as removal.  Again, suggestions and/or recommendations please.

OK, it is a 2013 13 QBB, not QBC, (not sure where that came from).  If anyone can give me suggestions or recommend a shop in N. VA I'd appreciate it.
