Title: Cabinet above refrigerator
Post by: Mepat on July 29, 2017, 09:43:41 PM
I have noticed that the cabinet above our refrigerator gets very warm. I presume this is because of the refrigerator running below. The food I have stored in the cabinet is getting pretty warm as a result. Has anyone come up with a fix for this to dissipate the heat?

don't put food there...use it for storage of not frequently used items, extra paper towels, etc.

With all the other available storage I don't think it would be worth the time and materials trying to cool off that area. Keep non perishables there.

The previous owner of my 14dbs insulated the cabinet to try to reduce this issue.  Unfortunately, he insulated it completely, including the roof, so it still holds heat in.  I plan on removing the upper insulation while retaining the lower insulation and see if it helps.

I'll report back or start a new topic if it really works out well.

Natural convection condensers is that they're installed in a cabinet that doesn't have enough of a gap on the sides and top of the cabinet to allow air to circulate.
