Title: Hood vent exhaust
Post by: Silverfox on May 07, 2017, 02:13:19 PM
Has anyone modified their hood vent so that it vents outside instead of just filtering the smoke? They must sell a kit? I've noticed a lot of high end trailers (airstream) and not so high end trailers (Rockwood) all vent outside. I'm a little disappointed that Livin Lite doesn't.  :-\

All content is read in this thread. It was a new knowledge for me. I see it as a really useful thing.

Was thinking of doing the same myself too. Etrailer.com sells the hoods and exhaust damper vents. I need to pull tape to figure out what size hood to order the hard part will be getting the measurements right for cutting through to the exterior.

I did mine on my 2017 14 DBS last fall. I bought a vent cover at CW and Painted it black. Then I removed the vent hood and removed the outside vent hole. I took some work with a Dremel. Then I reinstalled the hood and drilled holes thru at the four corners of the hole. Then installed the cover from the other side and called it all up. Works fine.
