Thank you. That one looks better than the ones I found using search terms like: 7-way holder, trailer cable holder, plug holster, etc. I missed damn near every keyword in that description!

Thanks!

Thanks Chappy!

Say, where did you get your 7-way plug holder? I tried searching various terms but haven't seen one like yours yet.

I had to move my propane tanks forward about 3-4 inches so the box would fit and I'd still be able to take the batteries in and out. Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. The toughest part of the job was removing the old 12v battery bracket. That sucker was TORQUED. Had to grind two of the screws off.

That doesn't sound right- have you seen the wood yourself? We have a 2016 13QBB we bought last month and I have gone through it with a fine-toothed comb. Haven't found a single splinter or speck of sawdust. I think it was mid-model year 2016 that wood cabinet faces were added, but AFAIK, nothing structural is wood even in the newest models.

Aluminum shavings, though? That's another story- I've found enough of those to make a 12-pack of beer cans.

Hello friends-

Has anyone here ever cancelled an extended service contract? We have an appointment to see our finance guy tomorrow to take care of this, but I'm not sure what to expect. I can imagine he's not too happy we want to cancel, so I'm expecting a hard sell, or even (gasp!) some deception.

It's a Camping World location. We purchased on March 11th, and although I do take some responsibility, I feel like we were duped into buying a package of plans. He never once claimed that they were optional. He showed us a list of payment options for our financing. We chose the lowest, but it still included a bunch of add-ons we don't need. I contacted the plans' administrators and they all tell me to contact the dealer. We have, and we are to meet him at 9 tomorrow morning.

I have thoroughly read the contracts and as far as I can see, we can return them for a full refund.

Anyone here have any experience with this kinda thing?

Thanks!

A little pricey, but the best I could find. I'm pretty sure there's a 20% off sale right now. Code: KEYLESS20.

(For the record, I am not affiliated with this company- it is merely an endorsement!)

When we got our trailer home last week, we discovered that our door lock didn't work. I didn't even think to check it at the dealership, the keys were tie-wrapped in the refrigerator. The key wouldn't go all the way in either key slot. The code on the key matched the lock, so who knows? Probably a result of sitting on the lot for a year. (Same reason I'll be upgrading tires before our first trip.) I'm sure I could have taken it apart and fixed it, but this was a nice excuse to upgrade.

We bought a keyless entry lock from RVLOCK. It installed in minutes and so far, it works great. I'm happy that my TT isn't sitting in my yard unlocked anymore!

Next up on the list- hardwired surge protector..

Thanks for the response David.,

It's a 2000 Cherokee. Not plug and play. I added the tow package myself last fall to prep for this. Hitch, wiring harness, tranny cooler, upgraded rear leafs, etc. etc. I have a wire for the brakes that runs back to the hitch, but I still have to run power, ground, and brake pedal wire. Still won't take me more than an hour or so.

When I smashed the cable, I was parking the trailer, and it was hooked up and fully powered when it happened. My Jeep has a tail light and a front marker light out, so I'm sure a fuse went kaput somewhere. I don't know if any lights are out on the trailer, cause I yanked it when I saw the damage. My replacement cable comes Tuesday (along with my brake controller -got a Tekonsha P2- I like the bigger display), I'll hook it up and test everything when I get it all installed. Hoping for no problems in the TT, or at worst a fuse or two. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again!

So, my wife and I picked up our new 2016 13QBB yesterday. It's our first time buying an RV of any kind, and I would rate my experience at Camping World as so-so.

As I expected, I knew most of what we went over in the walk-through from months of pre-purchase research. I did get answers to my questions, and I learned a thing or two, but importantly, I was able to go through the trailer pretty thoroughly.

A couple mysteries, tho- things that don't match up with the published specs.

15 inch wheels. Thought they were 13's on this model. Not complaining, tho.

Dexter 4400 lb axle. Is this the normal size? Pretty sturdy for a lite-weight roller like the 13QBB. The sticker claims a 4576 GVWR and a max cargo of 1675 with a GAWR of 3000. Again, the axle itself says 4400. Weird.

It has the aluminum roof and floor, and the old, laminate counter tops.

Champagne color. It's beautiful, it's what we've been hunting for, and miraculously, it was only 40 miles from my house. I traveled 1100 miles to find my perfect Jeep, and I was prepared to do the same for the right trailer. We really lucked out with this one.

HOWEVER- when I struck the deal and put money down last week, I told my sales guy that I would install my own brake controller. Later on, I emailed him to say that I would prefer a dealer install for the BC. He never responded directly to that email, but he notified me that he received it. When we arrived yesterday, I inquired about it and it was "being looked into" or whatever. As things moved along- walk through, financing, etc. I asked a couple more times. Well, then I'm told, "Good news! It's light enough, the guys said you don't need a brake controller!"

No, no, no. I am Mr. "First-time-towing-super-anal-safety-nervous-guy" and now I'm being told even if I wanted one, they can't install it today and oh by the way, you're all hitched up, parked out front, don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Well- I went out and then had to ask for a hitch demonstration before I pulled off. Hello? Never done this before. Any tips? Sheesh.

So then, I ask the nice guy showing me the hitch (different guy- but all the techs I met were knowledgeable and courteous) if he thinks I'm good with no BC, (and I was asking just to get home- job one is to install my own now).

He says, "yeah I'm sure you'll be fine, but- it's illegal. Don't get stopped."  Sheesh man- if I get pulled over, will I be able to actually, you know, STOP?

Well, I got it home, it towed easier than I thought and it stopped pretty good. After a BC, it will be smooth sailing.

One last thing- during my crash course in backing it up (at home), I crushed the 7-way cable in the hitch. I didn't notice until I was parked, so I unplugged it and pulled the battery. I have already ordered a replacement, and I won't have any trouble installing it. Just hope I didn't damage the system. The cord was shredded and definitely crossed up some signals. My Jeep has a marker and tail light out now, so I'll need to look at that too. Hope it's a fuse or two at best.

Thanks for "listening!" I appreciate all the help I've gained from this and the old forum.

Now, if it would stop snowing and warm up another 30 or 40 degrees!

After months of research and visits to many dealerships to look at a variety of brands and plans, we've been led to Livin Lite. I am overjoyed to have found a new, 2016 13QBB within a 45 minute drive of our house! We finalize the deal and pick it up on Saturday. The sticker says built in Aug of '15. It was a "lot leftover" from when a Livin Lite dealership was bought out by Camping World.

I am not a new camper, but I'm new to trailering. This is our first RV purchase. From all the research I've done, I know I'm getting a good price. I looked it over quite well before putting a deposit on it last week, and I didn't see anything major. I didn't try any of the appliances- there was no battery or water where it was parked on the lot. I know we should (will?) be able to check everything when we pick it up. I don't have the typical buyer leverage because this is a one-off. I don't have several to choose from. It's priced to sell.

Any tips for a new guy before the walk-through? Any experience purchasing an RV from Camping World? I feel well prepared through research, from towing to basic operation, set-up, etc. but I am here to learn from you seasoned vets! We are excited to start visiting Minnesota parks starting this Spring!

Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice-
