CampLite Travel Trailers / DRIVE Electronics Poor Experiences
« on: November 12, 2017, 07:10:57 PM »
Is anyone else having poor experience with the DRIVE Entertainment System in their Camplite? Our original unit (<2 months old, used maybe 10 times) stopped playing DVD's in color. Tried several DVD's including a new one. DRIVE Tech Service was responsive in suggesting corrective actions, I followed up on all of them but unfortunately none resolved problem. They also promptly sent a replacement unit on my call back notification original unit still wouldn't do color. The replacement played fine for a few weeks, then started freezing up on DVD's.... short pauses at first but gets progressively longer as play trys to continue. Very frustrated!

Have we just been unlucky on two DRIVES in a row? Has anyone found a reliable replacement? Thanks!

CampLite Travel Trailers / WINTERIZING A CL21RBS
« on: October 27, 2017, 09:18:00 AM »
There are some good You Tube video's on winterizing RV's for do it yourself types. I took notes on the one I felt best fit my Camplite 21 RBS and customized it a little for my purposes. I suspect most CL RV's would be similar to this procedure as per attachment.  List looks intimidating, but should be pretty simple for average Do It Yourselfer. Antifreeze available at Walmart for <$3/gallon. I used 2 gallons. Important note: be careful not to cross thread fittings when installing components listed in attachment; could cause damage to pump and/or water heater.

One note, a frustrating issue concerning the fresh water tank drain. Livin Lite placed the drain valve for this tank on side of the tank instead of on bottom. If not properly addressed, this can leave about 1/8 of tank water filled; a possible place for water to freeze and perhaps crack tank. My tank has a sloped channel on bottom with a low point designed to draw all water from tank. I installed a drain at this low point so as to completely empty tank using 3/4" UNISEAL Flexible Tank Adapter (Bulkhead) available on Amazon.

Important note:

CampLite Travel Trailers / Dining Table Flops Around On Post
« on: July 22, 2017, 02:07:28 PM »
We just took delivery of a 2018 CL21RBS with Dining Nook in the slide out. A single center mounted post supports the table (sort of). The table flops around quite a bit with very little off center loading on it. We adjusted the post locking collar tight down to the floor mounting plate which helps a little, but table movement is still unacceptable.

We are considering installation of a second post along the long axis to at least help some of the length-wise up / down movement but of course this would be an obstruction for those seated at table.

Has anyone come up with a good practical solution to this issue you are willing to share?  Thanks.

CampLite Travel Trailers / RV Covers Experiences / Recommendations?
« on: June 28, 2017, 07:59:34 AM »
Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with RV Covers? Any you would recommend or stay away from? How well do they protect RV? Do they rub enough to damage Paint? Are roof protrusions much of a damage problem & if so, ideas to abate same? How hard are they to install & remove without damage to either RV or cover?

CampLite Travel Trailers / Camper Theft Security (Entire Camper!)
« on: June 19, 2017, 05:52:32 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of others having their entire trailer stolen; either from a camp ground or while stored? Does anyone have some good security suggestions we newbies may benefit from? After looking at Amazon reviews of locking systems for trailer tounge ball receiver, doesn't give me much confidence most will hold up to a determined thief...  :( Are some sort of wheel locks available that are secure?

CampLite Travel Trailers / RV TIRE PROBLEMS?
« on: June 18, 2017, 08:58:17 AM »
I've heard some horror stories about the poor quality of RV OEM tires and resultant consequences such as body damage from shreds slapping wheel well, poor tire life, etc. What are forum experiences on this subject?

Are quality RV tires available (preferably USA made VS China) and if so, recommendations?

Why are tire covers recommended for RV's when not used on autos / trucks, etc.

CampLite Travel Trailers / SURGE PROTECTION
« on: June 16, 2017, 11:28:19 PM »
Does anyone have experience using electrical surge protection for their CL? I have read that some camp ground hook ups can supply "dirty power" which may cause serious damage to electrical devices in our campers. There are a number of devices on the market with a wide range of pricing. Being new to camping, we don't want to "overkill" protecting against or ignore dirty power potential damage. Is there really a high potential for encountering power issues at camp grounds? Anyone use / recommend certain surge, under voltage / over voltage etc. protection? Is the potential for theft of portable devices at the power outlet pole a real problem?
