Title: aluminum ball receiver too soft?
Post by: roadphantom on December 22, 2018, 12:32:47 PM
Hi, we have been RV'ing since 1985. Now retired, we are traveling for a year and a half through the Southwest and Northwest. Presently, we are in a 34 ft 5th wheel in South Texas. Eventually, after we're done full timing in a year and a half from now, we'd like to store our trailer somewhere in the Southwest and buy a small lightweight camper for travel from our home in Pa to the trailer and for short camping trips.
When looking at pictures of the camp lite's I notice the ball receiver is made out of aluminum. Wouldn't the steel ball eventually wear out the aluminum? Thanks for your help.

My receiver is Steel.  Aluminum would not survive against a steel ball.

ALL couplers are steel.
