Our kitchen is about ten years old now and we're starting to notice small cracks and stains on the countertop. It still works fine, but visually it doesn't look as good as it used to. I'm not sure if this is the point where people usually replace worktops or if they can last much longer.

It really depends on the material and how often the kitchen is used. Some surfaces hold up very well for years, while others show wear faster.

Hi all! From what I've seen, many people start considering replacement worktops once the surface begins showing visible damage like scratches, stains or small cracks. Even if the cabinets are still perfectly fine, worn countertops can make the whole kitchen feel less clean and modern. Replacing them can refresh the space quite quickly and often improves durability as well, since newer materials are designed to handle heat, moisture and daily cooking much better than older ones.
