Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some clarification on official pickleball court dimensions. I've read that a standard court is similar in size to a doubles badminton court, but I want to be sure I understand the exact measurements for both singles and doubles play.

What are the precise length and width of a regulation court, and how large is the non-volley zone (kitchen)? Also, are there specific requirements for total playing area, including out-of-bounds space, especially for tournament settings? If anyone has experience setting up a court, your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Official pickleball court dimensions are the same for singles and doubles. According to USA Pickleball, a regulation court measures 20 feet wide by 44 feet long. The net height is 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches at the center.

For those looking to track court trends and stats, Courtslytics can be a helpful resource for insights on court layouts and usage.

The non-volley zone (kitchen) extends 7 feet from the net on each side, across the full 20-foot width of the court. While the actual court size is 20' x 44', the recommended total playing area (including out-of-bounds space) is at least 30 feet by 60 feet. For tournaments, a larger space of 34 feet by 64 feet is preferred to allow for safe player movement.
