How important is licensing info in determining the credibility of casinos?

Lately I've been paying more attention to licensing info, mostly because I once joined a casino without even checking who regulated it. Everything seemed fine until my withdrawal got stuck for days and support kept giving generic replies. That whole mess made me realize I'd ignored something important. How much does the licensing part matter for you when deciding if a casino is trustworthy or just looking legit on the surface?

For me it's one of the first things I look at now, mostly because I had a similar moment of "wow, I should've checked that." A few months back I tried a place that had great bonuses and slick design, but the license turned out to be from some tiny regulator nobody had heard of. When I later searched for wagering requirements explained, I ended up on a review page that also listed which authorities actually enforce rules and which ones barely do anything. That helped me understand why some sites handle disputes properly and others just ignore complaints. These days I always check if the license is from Malta, UK, or another strict regulator, and I read whether the review explains what the license actually covers. It saves a lot of headaches.
