Day on the Water with Friends

Trying to plan something fun with a few friends next weekend — ideally something outdoors, not too far from Fort Worth. We were thinking of spending the day on the water, maybe renting a boat or just finding a chill spot to hang out. No one wants to drive too far, and we're definitely not looking for anything too fancy. Just a good vibe, some sun, maybe a place to grab food nearby. Anyone have recommendations that won't turn into a huge logistical mess?

We did something super similar not long ago and ended up at Lake Granbury Marina — it was honestly perfect for what you're describing. You can rent a pontoon, cruise around the lake, and then pull back in to grab a bite at Stumpy's, which is right there on the water. The whole thing felt really easy and low-stress. We were back home by evening without feeling like we'd spent the day driving or planning. Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid day trip from Fort Worth.

I always forget how many solid lakes are around Fort Worth. I've been meaning to spend more time outside this summer instead of just staying in the city every weekend. Might start making a list of spots like these and check them out one by one.
