Hey all! Just wanted to share some tips from my recent experience with a complete home remodel. First, definitely start with the essentials like roofing, foundation, and any structural repairs. Once that's sorted, move on to plumbing and electrical work – these are critical and should be handled by professionals. Don't forget to get permits before starting the work. For anyone hiring contractors, make sure to get multiple quotes and check references. It's also a good idea to have a contingency budget for unexpected expenses. Good luck with your projects!

I can't believe I'm saying this, but it looks like I'm finally done with renovating the inside of the house. Took me a whole year. All because I wanted to save money and not hire pros. Nothing too tricky, but when you're doing it all yourself, juggling work and personal life... you get it, everything takes longer.

What's next? You got a backyard? In general, the idea of fixing up the inside of the house first, then moving on to the outside really makes sense to me. I'm planning to redo or upgrade the driveway. I'd love natural stone, but I think I can only afford concrete or maybe asphalt https://oakshs.ca/asphalt/, which isn't bad either. If it's done well, I'm okay with that. Though it's not as pretty as I'd like.

That's solid advice! We just finished a kitchen renovation, and the permits were a HUGE pain, so definitely budget time for that. The structural repairs were scarier than anticipated, too! To de-stress during the chaos, I found myself zoning out playing online games. If you need a mental break, something simple like Drift Hunters can be surprisingly therapeutic. Good luck to everyone tackling a remodel!
