Is there ANY reason the day/night shade (not the windows) assembly could not be installed "upside down" at the factory?  I would prefer the privacy portion of the shades on the BOTTOM, not the top.  If no reason why not, and assuming the factory WON'T flip it during manufacture, how difficult would it be to remove and flip the day/night shade assembly?  Risks?  Rewards?  Tips?

Can't think of a reason.  My 2013 21BHS has the privacy portion at the bottom.

My 2016 21BHS also has the privacy shade on the bottom, doesn't make sense to have to on the top so my guess is careless assembly and zero quality control, but this is par for the course in the RV industry.

I'm with you, Huck! Privacy makes more sense at the bottom. Our 14dbs has the same configuration as yours. I would be curious to know how the flip goes, and please include any tips and tricks.

Thanks!

If your RV or vehicle features day/night shades and was built in May 2017 with a model year of 2018, it's essential to maintain those window treatments for both comfort and aesthetics. Over time, shades can wear out or lose tension, especially in models several years old. Regular inspection and gentle cleaning can extend their lifespan. If you're planning travel or maintenance, using tools like a may 2026 calendar printable can help you schedule updates and replacements ahead of time.

With the age of your model, now is a smart time to check for any fabric fading or mechanism issues before the peak travel season. Just as a calendar helps you organize upcoming events or service appointments, keeping track of interior updates like day/night shades ensures your space stays functional and comfortable. Use a printable calendar to mark maintenance intervals, ensuring your 2018 model stays road-ready and well-kept.
