Kaspa is a decentralized, open source cryptocurrency using the GHOSTDAG protocol, a scalable generalized Nakamoto consensus. Unlike traditional blockchains, Kaspa functions as a block DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph), where blocks can link to several previous blocks. This allows for a much faster block creation rate, while maintaining the security provided by the Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism. Kaspa crypto main innovation is the GHOSTDAG protocol, which effectively solves the orphan block problem common to fast blockchains. Instead of discarding orphan blocks, GHOSTDAG includes them in the consensus, allowing the network to process significantly more transactions per second and reduce delays.
