The Innovative QUICKSILVER

Automotive Camper Many of us enjoy fond memories of vacations spent traveling the country with our family, navigating from one KOA campground to the next while towing our tent camper with the family station wagon. What ever happened to those great family get-a-ways? Well, I can tell you this... you would be hard pressed to find a camper on the market today that can comfortably sleep a family of five and still be pulled by the family car. Over the last few decades, the "entry-level" campers offered by RV manufacturers have grown continually larger, heavier, and costlier with more amenities and features. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a "double whammy" if you will, for today's young families. First, these larger campers come with a much heftier price tag. Secondly, they require a truck or SUV to tow them. So, should it really surprise us that while other segments of the RV industry have continued to grow over the years (current economy notwithstanding), that tent camper sales have continued to shrink? The result has been a decline in the number of young families who are able to spend upwards of $14,000 - $19,000 for what the industry calls an "entry level" camper, not to mention the addition expense of purchasing a new tow vehicle to pull it.

While there have been some smaller, lightweight campers hit the market that can be towed by passenger cars, the vast majority of them can only sleep two people. By definition, any camper that can only sleep two people is NOT family friendly. That's what makes the QUICKSILVER line of automotive campers built by Livin' Lite Recreational Vehicles such a refreshing option for today's young families. With the growing popularity of hybrids and other fuel-efficient automobiles, QUICKSILVER is meeting a need for young families who are looking to get away and enjoy the RV lifestyle, yet are restrained by budget. These family-friendly campers are designed to sleep up to six comfortably, while offering young families the ability to tow them with their current passenger car or minivan. Featuring a back-to-the-basics design that is constructed entirely of lightweight aluminum and composites, the QUICKSILVER line of automotive campers offers the kind of quality and long-lasting appeal that the next generation of RV buyer is looking for. The RV industry has thrown around words like "durability" and "rugged", all the while continuing to build their units with steel frames that rust quickly and pine and paneling based cabinetry and walls which rot. The QUICKSILVER is the first RV ever built completely void of any wood products whatsoever. This "wood-free RV" has caught the attention of today's next-generation, educated consumers who see the QUICKSILVER's construction as a tremendous value proposition for their money. The fact is, while other RVs will rot and rust over the next ten years, the QUICKSILVER automotive camper should maintain both its structure and beauty for decades to come.

ALL LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION vs. TRADITIONAL RV CONSTRUCTION

The recreational vehicle industry has been manufacturing heavy steel constructed towable RVs for decades. While they may be using more aluminum in areas such as the sidewalls and ceilings, the fact is, the foundation of most traditional towable RVs is constructed out of heavy steel with its propensity to quickly corrode in the initial years of ownership. In fact, it is not atypical to find a significant amount of rust on brand new RVs. At Livin' Lite Recreational Vehicles, aluminum is utilized to construct the entire structure of the camper - inside and out. The entire frame; floor; sidewalls; exterior skin; bunk construction and even the interior cabinetry is constructed of lightweight, durable aluminum. Aluminum possesses notable advantages over steel and wood, such as lightening the overall weight of trailers to make for easier towing, and significantly increasing the resale value of the coach, protecting the owner's investment. Aluminum does not corrode like steel does. Aluminum does not rot as wood does. However, aluminum is more expensive than steel and wood. Thus, many manufacturers have continued to staple thin wood panels to pine sticks to for the cabinet faces of entry level trailers, as well as build the exterior walls with with 1.5" pine studs. Livin' Lite campers feature strong, 3" aluminum frames, with rugged aluminum plank flooring and utilize tubular aluminum to frame the sidewalls, endwalls, bunk bases, and interior cabinetry. The QUICKSILVER is built to stand the test of time, unlike any other RV on the market! Facts About Aluminum versus Steel as Utilized for the Foundation of Trailers : Aluminum can reduce the overall load weight making it 35-40 percent lighter than steel. Aluminum extends the lifespan of the trailer and eliminates the need to repaint the exterior, since it does not rust. Aluminum maximizes the resale value because it lasts longer. Aluminum improves gas mileage because it is much lighter to tow. Steel trailers require covered storage in order to extend the lifespan of the trailer. Steel trailers require more maintenance, including repainting and rust-proofing. Steel is heavier and requires more power to safely tow. Steel has a lower resale value. Aluminum Flooring will maintain its strength and form for decades, while wooden floor trusses covered with OSB floor decking will begin to sag and will rot out when moisture gets to them. Aluminum cabinetry will maintain its strength, form and beauty for decades, while thin wood panels stapled to thin pine studs can be easily damaged by water and other external forces. Aluminum cabinet doors will maintain their strength and form for decades while wooden cabinet doors can warp or fade with sun exposure.
